Remember my post about the media room?  Well, THAT never happened.  Right before the baby arrived, we moved the sectional upstairs into the media room.  Not the most brilliant idea… when friends and family came to visit, we had an empty living room full of random chairs for them to sit in!  So, what happened after that?!  Well, let’s just say I got a lot of different things that I like… and it just happens to be in the living room.  It’s a conglomeration of Regal Regency, Midcentury Modern, and French Provincial – We’ll nicely call it ECLECTIC!  {This is always what Mr. S worries about – all of my “wild and crazy” ideas coming together to form an explosion of what-you-call-a-living-room!}
I started this post in October, and it was originally named Ooh La La Living Room. Â I KID YOU NOT. Â It’s because I KNEW I was getting a French sofa NO MATTER WHAT! Â And now you see what happened… it’s just bright white and there! Â Anyhow, it’s funny because I’m showing you our living room, but we will be moving this summer. Â So, it will change AGAIN.
This living room seems to be a true reflection of me… all over the place in styles!  Do you have a certain style in your living area or what is your favorite style?
Wow….gorgeous!! I LOVE those Moroccan tables!
When you move again you can get even more crazy ;) The crazier, the better, hehe

LOL Meg! Okay, I guess crazy is good then! I think hubby wants it more relaxing! We’ll have to see how things go in the new place. It may be the same arrangement for awhile!
I LOVE your living room! It is so chic, of course. The fuzzy pillows are awesome. A+ :)

Thanks Kim! Yes, fuzzy ANYTHING is usually a winner in my books! :)
And SO INTERESTING about that Carrot con leche oil! I’ve tried jojoba, argan, now rosehip… but never carrot!! Sounds like a good one though!
I really love your living room. I love the modern and chic vibe to it all. I especially love that chandelier, super cool! We were in the middle of downsizing when we got pregnant, so all our rooms are still in that state of jumbled moving mess. I really need to get back to getting our house in order, now that the kids a little older. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Jane, if you look at any room besides our bedroom (which was done by someone else) and living room, our house is a mess too! Our nursery isn’t finished, and the boy is 9 months old now! So don’t feel bad! I’m a little bit nervous about starting over again!
BTW, that box rocket/spaceship/boat is too cute! Aren’t kids imaginations the best!
I absolutely love it! Everything looks fab!
Thank you Rachel! xx
Gorgeous! I love that you took different elements and threw them all together to make a room that is truly unique! The best part, is that it actually works together – I’m slowly working on fixing up our living room but right now it looks more like a thrift store with random pieces everywhere than an actual put-together room like yours! Definitely taking inspiration from this!

Thanks Duckie! That’s what the hubby tells me (since I buy stuff at estate sales, thrift stores, resale shops, etc. too)! It’s nice to think that it “works together” because I am always worried about that VERY WHITE sofa that I HAD TO HAVE! I feel like it sticks out like a sore thumb!
I love the little peeks of your house and interior you share on your blog – it looks so stylish! The mix of styles works well here :)
Hope that your move goes well, and you have fun decorating your new place! :)

Thanks Mica! We don’t move until late this Summer so we still have time. I need to be packing and getting rid of stuff here so we can list our current house! It’s a bit overwhelming! Eeek!
You’ve got funky, fab taste Sam! Your living room looks awesome!!

your livingroom looks great!!
Thanks Jen! And I just saw that y’all are building too! Our kitchen is also going to be a “tuxedo” kitchen (I think), but I didn’t know the term until I just saw it on your blog. The wood that they used couldn’t be painted white (my dream kitchen) unless all of the knots were bondoed so I came up with an alternative. This is my inspiration kitchen: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/221309769163110349/. I’m not sure if it’s that’s considered a tuxedo kitchen but we have grey + white washed cabinets with a whiter quartzite top. They just finished staining our cabinets!
