I LOVE LOVE LOVE these denim shorts. Β I have sentimentalΒ feelings for them becauseΒ they belonged to my late father. Β He wore them to do yard work. Β He lives in my heart forever, but I still like to have some of his things because they remind me of him. Β I even did a “make-over” on them thinking Mr. S might think they were better! Β Can you tell? Β I straightened the hem. Β {See them previously here.}
Funnily enough, Mr. S HATES HATES HATES these shorts. Β He told me not to be surprised if I can’t find them one day! Β He cringes every times he sees them. Β It amuses me!
The Style Rx: Β Wear destroyed denim shorts like you are proud to be seen in them! Β Keep it casual with a plain white tee and sandals. Β Or class it up with a lace top – a great contrast to the denim.
Anyhow, TO ME, they areΒ the perfect pair of shorts with a plain white tee and the best outfit for summer. Β Do you have a pair of cut-offs that you favor? Β What does your significant other think of them? Β Is it a LOVE or HATE situation in your house?
I think they’re perfect for a nice, relaxed look! And I adore that bag, such a great shape and color combo!

Thanks Meg! They are VERY RELAXED! Mr. S always gets nervous when I tell him that I’m going to wear something comfy… he’s afraid I’ll pull out these shorts! LOL!
There is nothing wrong with keeping a sentimental item of someone you love. Its a way of feeling close to them when they are no longer with us on earth but forever in our hearts. I have my grandads cashmere popcorn sweater and my grandmas button tin. Its just an old butter cookie tin and there are some really unique buttons in it made of glass, bone, stone, you name a vintage style of button, its in there. I’m sure you miss your dad and think of him everyday….Especially while wearing your COOL denim shorts (that was for Mr. S), your dad wore them for function and you wear them fashion-BOOM!
Thanks Nicole!! It’s nice to know that other people hold onto things for sentimental value. Sometimes, I fear that I’m becoming a “hoarder”… if you’ve ever seen my closet then you may understand!
I do miss my Dad and think of him everyday… especially now that I have a family. I wished he could have met my husband and now my son. THANK YOU!
Great look Sam, something I can see myself wearing! Love those shorts.
