PARIS + FASHION WEEK. Could any combination be better, seriously?! I am SO EXCITED y’all. 39nineteen and Diamondere are hosting a contest, and it is FAAAAABULOUS!!! The winner will receive airfare, a 3 night stay in the stylish ‘city of light’, tickets to some of the hottest shows in Paris, a stunning piece of fine jewelry by Diamondere, and will get to be a guest editor for one week at 39nineteen!
In case you don’t know 39nineteen, it is a mother daughter blog that chronicles the fashion and lifestyle trends of a 39 year old (Chris) and 19 year old (Melanie). Melanie is the daughter of Chris’s dear friend. Chris runs two companies (A Band of Women and Nothing but the Truth) and Melanie is a fashion designer in the making. Between the two generations, their fashion taste are very similar. I just love the story of these two!

Now that we’re all excited about Paris Fashion Week, I wanted to share some tips on how to look like a fashion editor. The photographers love them. I LOVE THEM. Why not look like one!
1 // WEAR BLACK. The secret to wearing black is varying textures. Leather, lace, cotton, velvet, faille… When you layer different materials, a boring black outfit becomes fierce and chic. Think Kate Lanphear and Christine Centenera.
2 // CHIC HAIR. When running from show to show during Fashion Week, who has time to mess with hair?! A chic ponytail looks pulled together and fresh. Giovanna Battaglia and Miroslava Duma are the queens of the chic pony.
3 // STATEMENT JEWELRY. Even if your outfit and hair are simple, make a statement with some amazing jewelry. If your hair is up, try chandelier earrings. Or wear your favorite numbers around your neck – like these cuties from Diamondere. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box. Here, I’ve worn two belts as necklaces.
3 // ABC. ALWAYS BE CARRYING your cell phone. Editors are busy and use technology to their advantage to keep up with show schedules, appointments, emails, and social media. Plus, what if you just happen to run into Karl Lagerfeld and need a selfie with him?!
4 // OVERSIZED COAT. The oversized coat is PERFECT because it’s practical (you can actually be warm) and stylish.
5 // COOL CLUTCH. It never hurts to have some amazing clutch/bag whether you’re attending a fashion show or just grabbing coffee. Can you tell that bags are my weakness? Channel your inner Anna Dello Russo!
