This past weekend, we had some friends over for dinner so I baked an apple pie. I learned this recipe from my lovely mother-in-law. It’s super simple and an easy recipe that you can make in a flash!
Ingredients:
- Pillsbury Pie Crusts – the kind you find in the refrigerated section. It comes with 2 rolls.
- Approximately 6 medium apples – I used Braeburn this time, but it changes depending on what’s on sale.
- 1/2 lemon
- 1/2 cup flour**
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon**
- 1/4 cup brown sugar**
**Measurements are approximate – I do it by eyeballing!
Peel the apples, then cut them into slices. Squeeze the juice of the lemon onto the slices. Add flour, cinnamon, and brown sugar to apples. Mix thoroughly. Spread one of the pie crust onto the pie pan. Pour the apple mixture in. Roll the other pie crust over the apple mixture. Create a crust by folding the first layer over the top layer. Cut vent slits on the top of the pie. Bake at 375 degrees for 55-60 minutes. After the first 15 minutes, cover the crust with a pie shield (or you can cut a hole out of foil).
