Hello Friends!  I’m interrupting this week’s From Grandma with Love post because of some exciting news!  I’m participating in a style segment for Good Day Fox, and we will be chatting about ‘What to Wear’ for Diner on Blanc debuting in Dallas on September 17th!

This outdoor pop up picnic originated in France around 30 years ago thanks to François Pasquier!  It now assembles almost 15,000 people annually around the world.  What a beautiful way to celebrate our friends and the city!  And the attire?  You guess it…  It’s all white!

After lots of trying on outfits in stores, at home, modeling for my mom {most honest critic ever}, and then Mr. S, I finally decided on this look! It was so difficult to choose between all of the different ensembles.  Psst… I’m going to show you the others for outfit ideas in case you are attending this fabulous soiree!

The worlds most perfect shirt?!  YES.  Remember when I told y’all about meeting Levi Palmer of Palmer // Harding at Betty Reiter Dallas?  This is one of their designs.  {Insert “ah hands” emoji here!}  Talk about flair, literally!  Both pieces are from the A/W 2014 collection, and I cannot get enough of the fringe on the skirt or the “pages” on the top!  I just feel so glamorous in it and want to saunter around so my shirt can flow and the fringe on my skirt can whip back and forth!

Some things to consider:

• The location is a surprise! It could be on concrete or a grassy field, a stiletto’s worst nightmare!  That being said, I chose a chunky heel for my shoe.  White wedges would also be a great choice.
• You want to be comfortable and look marvelous!  The skirt is neoprene {stretchy}, and the top is cotton {breathable}.  Another positive is that I can wear both pieces separately later.
• Texas weather is crazy!  You have to be prepared for the unexpected.  It could be 90 degrees or 40 degrees in September.  This outfit is great because it’s breathable for warmer weather but long-sleeved in case it’s cooler.  If you decide on a strapless ensemble, a white cape or blazer thrown over the shoulder would be a chic option to keep you warm.
• White looks great on a tan!  For those of y’all that aren’t naturally tan, I have the most fantastic self tanner to recommend.  Xen-Tan products give me a natural sun-kissed “glow” and smell amazing!  {I’ll be doing a post on it later this week!}
• You’ll be eating… so you don’t want to worry about re-applying lipstick.  I chose a long-wearing lipstick in a neutral shade of red for the POP of color!
• Everyone is wearing white!  This is the perfect time to try a fun hat, wear bold lipstick, buy that statement necklace or earring you’ve been eyeing.  Give your outfit a something special!  #TREATyoself

I wanted something unusual so ReVint Boutique and Vintage Martini were obvious destinations!  There is always a fabulous vintage-something-that-needs-to-be-in-my-closet at either of those places!

Then I had to hit up some of my favorite boutiques! ShopSeptember and TOOTSIES in Dallas and Lane Knight and Beehive in Fort Worth are my go-to places.
