What to wear in Manhattan beach WITH Style of Sam

Hello GlamFam! With Summer coming to a close it’s time to finally dig into our incredible Manhattan Beach trip! Our family had the most amazing time and got to experience so many beautiful locations. The kids had a blast and I had plenty of opportunities to try out some of my favorite beach outfits! So, if you’re going on vacation and wondering what to wear in Manhattan Beach, read below for all of the fabulous details about our trip and what I wore!

You really can’t experience Manhattan Beach without checking out the Manhattan Beach Pier! From the palm trees in the parking lot to the turquoise railings lining the pier, it’s giving major California vibes. At 928 feet long there is plenty of room to take in the views of the beautiful blue ocean or the massive sandy beach. Manhattan Beach is our favorite place in California, and you’ll find plenty of tourists and locals enjoying it year-round. Plus, there are plenty of amenities in close proximity like restaurants, shops, beach volleyball courts, and even an aquarium with free admission!

At the Pier, watch the surfers catch and ride the waves. Our Littles enjoyed learning about the ocean life at the Aquarium. During the week, we stayed in “The Sands” area and walked along the Strand to get to any shops or food destinations. It’s about a 1/2 mile walk and we let the kids use scooters (which they loved)!

This stunning dress was the perfect option for our time at the pier. (I found it at Wright’s MB after finally going in! Previously, it was always closed at the time I passed by.) It’s lightweight, flattering, HAS POCKETS, and matched the colors of the pier perfectly too! I styled it with a white Louis Vuitton bag, Revolve sandals, BudHa Girl bracelets, Neiman Marcus necklaces and black sunglasses!

FAVORITE EATS:

Nick’s – Besides all the amazing cuisine, you MUST try the Butter Cake!
Le Pain Quotidien – Even though it’s a chain, the French food is perfection.
Becker’s Deli & Bakery – If you want a fantastic sandwich and/or surfboard cookies, then this is THE PLACE to get it.
Slay – Italian food YUMMINESS!!!

FAVORITE BREAKFAST:

Martha’s Hermosa Beach – You may have to wait in line if you don’t get there early, but we went back since the food was so good. Next time, I’m trying the cinnamon roll pancake! They also have GREAT egg breakfasts.
Uncle Bill’s Pancake House – We all enjoyed the pancakes and always ask to sit outside where we can watch people and dogs walk by.
Brother’s Burrito – These burritos are the bomb. Just know that they play 90s rock pretty loud if you are going early for breakfast! LOL!

FAVORITE DESSERTS:

Manhattan Beach Creamery – the name says it all. You can smell the delicious waffle cones as you walk by.
Gelato Angel – I didn’t get a chance to try the bubble waffle cone but definitely will next time.

Next up was Rancho Palos Verde and the incredible Terranea Resort! It’s about a 30 minute drive from Manhattan Beach. Palos Verde has some truly incredible views of the Pacific Ocean, LA, and not to mention some incredible estates as well! It’s one of the most scenic areas that you can visit in this area of the US and we embraced every moment we had. We headed to the Point Vicente Lighthouse first and explored the scenic trail around it. It was closed that day, so ne sure to check the schedule if you want a tour.

One of the highlights of visiting this area was staying at the incredible Terranea Resort! The resort sprawls along 102 acres of the Palos Verdes Peninsula and has absolutely breathtaking views of the ocean. They offer Bungalow, Casita, and Villa accommodations as well as several gourmet dining options! You can also enjoy a spa, golfing, water adventures and there’s even a kid’s club for your littles to enjoy. I want to go back with Mr. S on an adult vacation and stay there!

After enjoying an Al Fresco lunch with oceanside views at the Terranea Resort, we strolled the Terranea Discovery Trail. This Alala set was super comfy for hiking around with the Littles.

I loved exploring this Manhattan Beach and heading to church in this gorgeous coral dress (also from Wright’s), and these super cute shoes from The Beehive MB kept my feet comfortable while walking! True and fun story… On the second visit to American Martyrs Church, they were walking to the beach for sun, sand, and lunch after mass. Is that cool or WHAT?! I guess if you are only a 10-minute walk to the beach, then why not??!!

If your family wants to embrace the outdoors, check out the Discovery Trail! California has no shortage of beautiful hiking trails but the Discovery Trail features some truly incredible views that you won’t want to miss out on. This trail is lined with large palm trees with constant ocean views and it’s well marked and ideal for children of all ages! Throw on your runners, a cute workout fit, pack a hat, and some sunscreen, and enjoy the spectacular views!

Newport Beach Civic Center

Our next stop was the Newport Beach Civic Center! This spot is definitely a hidden gem within the city. It features a large expanse of land with plenty of little walking trails throughout, surrounded by interesting art and sculptures. We loved the peaceful environment, amazing architecture, and there was plenty to look at and explore. We especially enjoyed the sculpture dubbed “Bunnyhenge”! It consists of 14 large white bunny sculptures arranged in a circle and is a popular site for tourists to visit. However, if you’re interested in looking at artwork in particular then be sure to check out the expansive and surrounding sculpture walk! We even enjoyed a little down time at the Library where the kids LOVED grabbing a book and sitting down to read.

My dress by HerStory was an ideal choice for this fun day with the family. It’s lightweight, breezy and comfortable for walking but the design is chic and simple. I paired it with my favorite Louis Vuitton bag, some Budha Girl bracelets and some chic cat-eye sunglasses!

After, we grabbed groceries for a picnic dinner to watch the sunset at Corona del Mar Beach. It is a perfect way to end the day!
