For those that just tuned in, I’m sharing #ManicMomDay, an outfit that I’ve worn with the kids or running errands, every other Monday. This blog post series was born after y’all so graciously did the reader survey and told me you wanted MORE CASUAL! You got it! The name comes from a play on The Bangles song, “Manic Monday” in case you didn’t get it!
WEATHER //
It was early September, sunny, and in the 90s.
ACTIVITY //
We were headed to church which means a busy Sunday. We usually start at Torchy’s Tacos (if we all wake up and can get out of the house in time) and then head to church by 9:30am. After church, we usually walk around the Fort Worth Water Gardens then head somewhere for lunch. This particular Sunday, we did something different (than our usually Central Market lunch) and headed to the Modern Museum Cafe. That is one of my FAVORITE places for weekend brunch. (Remember this post about the museum here?!) The location is absolutely gorgeous, and the food is superb. We decided to eat outside because of the less than 100 temps!
WEARING //
I had just gotten this ruffle jumpsuit from THREE Fort Worth during their major sale. Literally, they are right down the street from me (like I can walk there). I had specifically gone to take a peek at my neighbor’s jewelry and artwork (Sienna Olivia Designs). Luckily for my wallet, I’m too busy to get to shop in stores/boutiques frequently!
The spaghetti straps on the jumpsuit are not appropriate for church so I wore a long sleeve ruffle blouse under it. The ruffle effect was quite surprising and fun! When I’m with the children, my jewelry is pretty minimal. Even my pearl drop earrings were pushing it because they dangle, and Baby Girl almost got a good grip on those to rip them out! Normally, I wear studs.
BTW, the pictures of me (solo) were taken by Little M! He also took the picture of me, Mr. S, and Baby Girl. Notice Baby Girl is NOWHERE in the picture! LOL!
Happy Monday Loves! Hope everyone has a great start to the week! We went to the TCU Football Game this past weekend. Little M loves “to watch” the football games. I think he just likes all of the snacks! LOL! It’s really cute because he asked me when the football movie was going to be over! (He was watching it on the big screen.) And someone commented on my FB post, but Baby Girl did stay home. Mr. S is on the sidelines during the game, so I would have two littles going up and down stands. That’s a bit nerve racking so she hung out at home with a babysitter.

Thanks Nancy! :)
Love the fun combo of the shirt and jump suit together Sam! Such a stylish outfit for time with family :)
We don’t take the boys out for brunch or things like that a lot and now we have a trip coming up I’m starting to worry about how they will handle eating out for pretty much every meal…have you done a post about tips for picking restaurants with kids in tow?

Hi Mica! Sorry I forgot to reply to this one! No, I don’t have a post about it… but I can just give you a few pointers!
I use the yelp app and search for “kid friendly” restaurants. Whenever I decide on one, I usually call ahead to see if 1) we can make a reservation or 2) if not, then how long the wait is and 3) if they have high-chairs. I have a travel one that can be added to a table and is pretty low profile. (It’s this Inglesia table high-chair for $69 – http://bit.ly/2g8rmT3)
When they are at the restaurant, I do have toys/books and will resort to electronics with my phone or bring an ipad (if they finish quickly and start getting rowdy).
Hopefully, these tips help!
Thanks so much for this Sam! We ended up surviving the trip, haha! We don’t take the boys out to eat often so I was pleased they behaved (mostly) well. The little one is just on the cusp of not needing a high chair so we didn’t stress if the option wasn’t there, or that portable one would have been a good idea!

Love the family pics. Hope your son continues to be your candid photographer.
Thanks Mommo! Yes, he’s pretty good with the iphone! Don’t you love how he completely cut Baby Girl out of that one photo! LOL!
