For those of you that just tuned in, From Grandma with Love is a twice-monthly series that is one of my faves! I’m lucky to be the recipient of my Grandmother-in-law’s beautiful wardrobe. She owned so many unique pieces, and I’ve had the MOST FABULOUS time styling it on the blog. It’s a win-win for me because I ADORE vintage and a fun excuse to wear it!

I’ve been dying to showcase this red/coral suit! The jacket almost made an appearance for Valentine’s Day with a pink dress, but I ran out of time. Anyhow, I’m even more excited since attending a Neiman Marcus fashion show yesterday, and Ken Downing himself said that the next big thing is pantsuits!!! Hooray since I bought that pink one in this post (not on sale – gasp!) since I’m a HUGE FAN of a matched set! And pantsuits are basically a dressed up matched set!
THE STYLE Rx: One, two, and then put on your shoes! A pantsuit is the dressy version of a matched set and will serve you well at work and for play. Separate the pieces for additional versatility.
To bring out the fun color pop of the suit, this striped crop top was a perfect match for a nautical inspired outfit. I love the adjustable straps, and it is a bra friendly top (depending on how wide your bra straps are). I also plan on wearing it with high-waisted wide leg linen pants or culottes, and I’m stalking the matching striped pants until they go on sale.
By the way, I linked a similar jacket since this one is vintage. An easy STYLE TRICK that I do to elevate a piece is change out the buttons. For the similar jacket, I would change the buttons to shiny gold ones instead. I used to do that with blazers that I purchased from Forever 21. ;)
The unique jewelry is from Lulu Frost (whom I’m mention in this post). I had always wanted one of her eye necklaces since they are so fun and quirky. I own her lips necklace (seen here) and a gorgeous green statement necklace (worn here and here). She just had an amazing sample sale, and there are a couple of pieces left if you are a fan too!
What do you think of those rainbow shoes?! Angie said it reminds her of Lisa Frank stickers from back in the day. They made me think of Rainbow Brite, and my inner nostalgia took over as I bought them! LOL! At least they match a lot of different things!
Do you own any pantsuits? And how do you wear them?
Happy Friday Friends! Mr. S got back last night but had to leave again for a work conference. I’m co-hosting another baby shower this weekend. Tis the season! LOL! Then, I’m so excited to attend a Bubbles, Brunch, & Banter event at B&B Butcher with Christy of So Fort Worth It! She is an entertaining queen so I know it will be FAB.U.LOUS, and I cannot wait to try their new brunch menu! What are you up to this weekend?!

THat is an incredible suit on you Sam! I love the cropped top with it. I have a few blazers and skirts, but no actual suit sets. I find pants really tricky, being petite, so I have so few pants in my wardrobe that aren’t jeans, ha!
Hope you are having a great start to your week so far :) We have got some autumn weather here at last so I’m excited to get all my winter knits out!
Love love love this! So bright and happy!! And it looks amazing with the rainbow heels! Super fun!
I do have a pantsuit but it’s burgundy velvet so I don’t wear it together all that much, haha!
