For those of you that just tuned in, From Grandma with Love is a twice-monthly series that is one of my faves! I’m lucky to be the recipient of my Grandmother-in-law’s beautiful wardrobe. She owned so many unique pieces, and I’ve had the MOST FABULOUS time styling it on the blog. It’s a win-win for me because I ADORE vintage and a fun excuse to wear it!

Polka dots are having a moment thanks to their revival on the Fall 2017 runways. The graphic print brings me back to childhood AND Minnie Mouse. Why would anyone want to wear it as an adult? Actually, it CAN be flattering! The newer interpretations of polka dot are in beautiful and modern silhouettes. You’ll see large print, mini dots, and all kinds of colors for Spring and Summer.
This polka dot suit set seems inspired by the Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama. Polka dots EVERYWHERE! I split up the skirt suit set and just used the jacket portion to do a pattern play with a striped top and striped pants! Statement earrings and a tassel bag helped to finish the fun look! A polka-dot jacket would also be cute with a lace cami and jeans. Easy Peasy!
You can even consider polka dots a neutral. If you want to pattern play, then they go well with stripes (as above), floral, and even different sized polka dots!
THE STYLE Rx: No need to revert to circle-circle-dot-dot! The latest polka dots will have you looking fresh, chic, and on the spot! ;) Try a single piece (as above) to add a fun accent into your wardrobe or go vintage chic with a dress!
Happy Friday Friends! I’m so happy it’s the weekend! This morning, I woke up feeling like I’d been hit by a Mack Truck! I’m not sure if it’s me still recovering from this sinus thing, the crazy weather that’s blowing in allergens, or that I started back with my trainer again! Anyhow, I’m looking forward to quality time with my family.
Speaking of quality time, my friend Sam encouraged me and Mr. S to do the Love Languages quiz. My top love language is quality time, and his top one is acts of service! It’s so funny because he does those for ME to show me his love, and I’ve been trying to spend more QT with him. I guess I’ve got to start working on more acts of service!

P.S. Sephora is starting their Spring Bonus Event early access today until 4/16 where you get 15% off if you’re a Rouge Member using code YAYROUGE. You know that’s huge because cosmetics NEVER go on sale! If you are a VIB or Insider member, then the sale starts on 4/20. I told you there were a lot of sales going on this week! Anyhow, here are the top 3 Sephora Picks in my cart!
- I’ve heard AMAZING things about Drunk Elephant, and I love kits so you get to try a little bit of everything before investing in the full sized products. This The Littles eight-piece kit contains the award-winning products and is said to last 30-45 days (or be good for travel if you already use the products). I love my Tata Harper but really want to try this!
- Speaking of Tata Harper, Sephora carries it with some exclusive kits and now it’s available for 15% off! In this blog post, I tell you my normal skincare routine. I literally just purchased the illuminating eye cream darn it! If this Luminous Glow set comes back into stock, you should get it! It has the illuminating eye cream, moisturizer (both so good – I get compliments on my skin EVERY time I use it) and the regenerating cleanser, and resurfacing mask (which are an amazing combination to make your skin GLOW)!
- Another one of my favorite clean brands is ILIA Beauty! Remember this post where I share easy tips for contouring and highlighting? It was using the illuminators! I also love the tinted lip conditioner in Arabian Knights (sheer berry) but going to try it in Blossom Lady (soft pink).
Thank you so much for stopping by and supporting SOS! I truly appreciate it!

In love with this mix of stripes and spots!
Must resist that sephora sale….GAH!! Although I had a sample of an Origins moisturizer that I want a full size of..*sigh* But then I’ll get sucked into the $50 free shipping and I can’t spend that much on beauty products right now, haha.

I really love the print mixing in this outfit Sam! I’ve been buying all of the polka dot pieces this year, it’s such a fun print that I don’t have enough of in my wardrobe. I need to try it with stripes next!
Hope you’re feeling better soon!
