On the blog, y’all may be used to seeing me all glammed and girlied up. Â But lately, because of baby, I’m reaching mostly for maxi dresses {because it’s one thing that you don’t have to match} or jeans and a tee. Â I need EASY, which is my kind of casual – something that feels good while I’m running around taking care of baby but will transition to leaving the house in a flash {if needed} when the Mister comes home from work.

At home, my personal appearance has been… how shall I say… NOT so lovely!  Usual attire = no makeup + top knot + PJs / if I’m lucky – workout clothes / if I’m really ambitious – real clothes.  Here’s the skinny… I really don’t wear jewelry anymore UNLESS I’m leaving the house to run errands WITHOUT le bébé!  And I go for easy pieces like the above example – neutrals, black comfy tee, and very stretchy jeans.  I threw on the boots and necklace so I wouldn’t feel so “mommyish”, and the blazer is good measure to cover up any spit up on my shoulders!  PLUS, it hides my derrière in these stretchy pants.  Lastly, I swipe on some bright lipstick to distract from my under eye circles/bags.  How’s THAT for trickery!  :)
P.S. Â If you work at Target in Fort Worth and have seen me in this outfit multiple times in one week, DON’T JUDGE!

This is such a nice casual comfortable outfit :) Perfectly dressed up – heels, a blazer and a bit of jewellery will do that :)
I really like that necklace too, I was considering getting it in the latest Rebecca Minkoff sale but decided not to in the end. I might need to go back and get it! :)

Boy, can I understand what you’re saying here. MY wardrobe went through a major transformation post baby. I still remember those days with fondness when I had time to have “deep oil” hair treatment, monthly facials, going through my wardrobe to try various combinations etc etc…. If it’s any consolation Sam, you still look just as chic!

Sam, you a a chic mommy! I remember taking a long vacation from wearing necklaces and dangly earrings when Aly was tiny. I wish I had bought those pretty “teething necklaces” that look pretty on mommy and are safe for baby to chew on!!
