Happy Monday, y’all! I’m recovering from FOUR holiday parties this weekend! They were tons of fun, but I am SO BEHIND on everything- especially Christmas shopping. Yikes!
If you know me personally, then you know that I’m always behind! One day, I’ll be completely organized and on top of things. #LifeGoals Until then, I have a few style hacks to share that require minimal effort but make a maximum impact. These tricks get me from zero to hero in minutes so I have more time to chase Little M, “clean up” the house, attempt to Christmas shop (I know it’s late!), and sometimes have lunch with friends!
You may have spotted me in one of these outfits, likely at Target, if you live in Fort Worth! LOL! These are my recent go-to outfits when I’m in a hurry (story of my life).
A faux fur vest worn over a long-sleeve tee and flare jeans is throwback to the ’70s with a touch of luxe. It’s perfect for running around or meeting up with friends and family. The jeans are comfy but chic, and the vest and hat keep you warm.
FRINGE! Do I need to say more?! Actually, I will. Fringe has been so “on trend” lately, and it’s everywhere. If you’re shy about trying it, start with a smaller piece like a clutch or a tee that you can wear under a jacket. Soon, you’ll realize that FRINGE = FUN!
By the way, both pairs of jeans are from Target. In case you missed it, I DO LOVE their jeans (see the post here). The flares are so good because they’re high-rise (no cracks here!) and a great dark rinse for winter. The ebony skinny jeans have the perfect amount of stretch, and I love the slashed knees. They are also high rise, which is really helpful when I’m with Little M. I wore these to a trampoline park, where I was jumping into the Styrofoam-block pool, if that tells you anything!
THE STYLE Rx:
- You can’t go wrong with a faux fur vest! It dresses up the simplest jeans-and-tee outfit, as you can see above.
- Add a wool hat if you’re having a “flat hair” day, or for added warmth.
- Flare jeans elongate your legs. Platform heels are fantastic if you aren’t able to get longer jeans altered quickly.
- Fringe always make a statement! Can you tell I LOVE it?! I usually pair it with more fringe accessories for maximum impact (see exactly what I mean with my “accessories first” post).
- Minimally distressed jeans give your outfit a little “edge.”
- Add a minimal necklace for a touch of gold that isn’t too distracting from your hero piece (fur vest or fringe jacket).
Remember that you don’t need to stress when getting ready this holiday season! Hope these style hacks helped! Are you done with your holiday shopping?

Thanks Meg!! Super fuzzy!! Sometimes it annoys Little M with all of my fuzzy vests and jacket!!! Totally a different reaction than what I’d expect! ????
4 Christmas parties? Dang girl! Love the outfits! And we’re studded clutch twinsies.

Hey you!!! Yes, 4 but we technically missed one (nap time)! And have you taken your clutch out around town?! Those pics with Santa cracked me up!! It was the same last year but he didn’t cry AS MUCH this year!! ????
Psh, bish please, I haven’t gone anywhere fun enough to take my clutch. Hah! Maybe NYE though because we actually have a babysitter. Cha-ching!
Love that second outfit on you Sam – you wear fringe so well, all of the pieces work incredibly together! :)
I think fun statement pieces are a great way to instantly look pulled-together :)
