Hello Friends! Hope y’all had a lovely Mother’s Day weekend! We celebrated with my BIL and SIL at our house. Despite our fridge being caput since last Monday, things were fantastic. We grilled steaks, enjoyed ready-to-eat sides from Central Market, and finished with freshly baked cookies and gelato. We took advantage of the glorious weather and dined alfresco while the kiddos were playing. I even got a NAP myself! Seriously, it was such a great day! I LOVE spending time with the family.
After attending the Longchamp opening with Harpers Bazaar at Northpark Center, I’m beyond excited to share a Longchamp collaboration, #LongchampSecretCity. {Check out the Longchamp opening pics on my facebook page!} I am giving you a peek at my favorite places in the DFW area. Today, we’re at the Modern Museum of Fort Worth which houses nearly 3,000 art pieces.
Architecturally, it’s stunning (thanks to Tadao Ando). Every view is breath-taking, and it makes me feel so at peace when I walk through to view the exhibits, browse the shop, or take advantage of the amazing eats in the cafe. It’s one of my favorite brunch places, and I’ve hosted a bridal brunch there. The main dining area has floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the serene reflecting pond and Roxy Paine’s “Conjoined” tree sculpture. I seriously could go on and on about this museum, but YOU should see it for yourself. (You can see the reflecting pond in this post, and the tree sculpture in this post.)
My favorite exhibit has been Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic. I was truly amazed at Kehinde’s ability to merge modern people in traditional settings and the emotion that was so strongly portrayed. In addition to the unique exhibits, The Modern also hosts First Fridays with live music and cocktails in the Grand Lobby and a 20-minute docent led tour . Music, food, and art… I don’t know what could be better! Or you can enjoy Magnolia at the Modern series showing critically acclaimed films every Friday. I want to see the documentary on Prince!
I hope you enjoyed my first #LongchampSecretCity reveal. It’s such an honor to be working with this iconic brand. I purchased my first Longchamp bag, the Le Pliage, in Paris when we first visited in 2008. It’s the black and brown combination, and it basically indestructible. It’s looks brand new to this day. Lately, I’ve been wearing this Le Pliage Heritage bag non-stop. I adore the color and the shape for Spring/Summer. Plus, it’s rare today to see a brand that so proudly constructs its pieces by hand. I really enjoyed watching this short film about it.
Stay tuned for my other #LongchampSecretCity reveal later this week!
