When I met Lauren Friedman at LuckyFABB four years ago, I knew that I wanted to be her friend. She was doing her thing at an event, and illustrated me (see below). AMAZING! The next day, we met again at a “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” Event and she had on the RADEST OUTFIT – a basketball jersey and denim jacket! WOW! She was the cool girl, and I WAS going to hang with her.
Fast forward four years… we have just adopted our second baby, and she has just written her second book, 50 Ways to Wear Denim. When Chronicle Books and Lauren asked me to be a part of her book/blog tour, 5 Days of 50 Ways, I was beyond honored! YAAAASS!
I ripped opened the envelope when an advance copy of the book arrived! The watercolor-style illustrations are gorgeous, and it is packed full of usable information for your go-to closet staple, denim. I love all the style tips, and it inspires me to try new outfits with the pieces that I already have in my closet! She even has an illustrated denim-inspired smokey eye tutorial! I LOVE it! Plus, the book contains basics like a denim dictionary, care guide, and the history of denim.

Mica, she really is so talented. That fashion illustration of me was done in 5 minutes while she was talking! It would have taken me hours with lots of erasing!!
