Giovanna Battaglia is one of my style icons. She makes everything look ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! It’s possible that everything looks amazing because she was a former Dolce and Gabbana model (and editor for Vogue Italia). Nonetheless, I like to think it’s because of her wonderful style. I bought a beautiful floral skirt from the consignment shop (it came with a matching top but it needs alterations to fit) for $10. I love the cut and colors of the skirt. It really reminded me of something Gio would wear so I decided to do an “Ode to Gio” outfit! {Stayed tuned for my upcoming “Ode to Alexa Chung” ensemble!}
top :: Gap
skirt :: Ann Lawrence for Neiman Marcus (thrifted for $10)
belt :: WHBM
heels :: ?? c/o mom
clutch :: gifted from neighbor (when I was younger)
My fashion equation for Gio’s style = fab skirt + simple top + bazillion bracelets + strappy sandals + unique bag.
:: bracelets (from left to right) ::
gold link :: John Wind
mulitcharm :: thrifted
green jewel :: Givenchy
green gem :: JCrew
pink/gold :: World Market
red/brown :: El Salvador
pearl :: John Wind
bead :: Central Market
prayer beads :: China
Simple hair is a must. She wears minimal make up. (Let’s get real! That would scare you if I did that!)
Meet the fabulous Gio!

Who is your style icon? {My most influential style icon is my mother. She taught me to be myself, love unique things, and work with the imperfections that I have!}
Sam, that outfit is fab girl. Love the printed skirt and kelly green (that’s always a nice green) top. Your shoes are super sweet. I love how they criss cross and wrap. Very sassy! You look like Sade with your hair pulled back. Very pretty girl. I don’t think I have one style icon. I usually look at many people for ideas. It may sound silly, but I adore the women on the Today show. They always have the current looks (Ann Curry etc.). Sam you look beautiful. Have a great day girl! Kim!! Sade- thanks! That’s a huge complement! She’s gorgeous! And the Today show ladies are super classy! Definitely a good thing to watch for current looks. I also look at many different people for ideas – hence all my wacky styles of dressing! Have a fabulous day! xo
WOW! What a stunning outfit! The green top is so beautiful on you and that skirt is gorgeous. And don’t even get me going on the shoes, lol!
Thanks for sharing over on our post today too. You do have beautiful eyes and your mom taught you well! We should celebrate our bodies and our features everyday.
Love that skirt- you always have the best thrifting finds! And I love it paired with that beautiful green color on top! http://www.saysskippy.blogspot.com
You have the kind of facial structure that looks good regardless of whether your hair is straight, curly up or down! Lucky you. Very photogenic too. I love how you mix the green top with the navy floral print skirt. The colors came together beautifully.
This is pretty dead on for Gio! You look fabulous and yes I can tell she is your style icon. My style icon is Victoria Beckham, I would love to raid her closet!
Oh Bessie!! I lllllooooooovvvveeee Victoria Beckham!! Have you read her book “That Extra Half an Inch”? It’s such a fun and easy read. Yes, she is definitely queen of style and fashion. One day, I am going to own one of her dresses! She even has the best poses! Good call Bessie!

Oh the skirt is totally Gio – and the shoes too! You look fab and definitely paid homage to the original – you are both so tall and thin too!
BTW – I know what double happiness charm you are talking about – from Cartier right? I love that one but mine is actually a dragon version
Your outfit is beautiful! I love the print on the skirt.
