My love for vintage started when I was a little girl. My mom would bring me to garage sales and estate sales, and I would see such beautiful pieces whether it was furniture or clothing. They were always so unique, and I LOVED that. My mother is the one that taught me it was okay to be different. In fact, it was great to be distinctive in style and fashion. Fast forward to me as an adult, and I have a “thing” for vintage. Ergo, my From Grandma with Love series was born.
Earlier this month, Tanya (Tanya Foster Blog) and Natalie (The Fashion Hour Blog) did a Facebook Live event with Eyeopener TV at Vintage Tex! (Scroll down below to see the video. I’m the last one to talk!) We chatted about the ways to incorporate vintage pieces into your wardrobe using fabulous items from Vintage Tex. I wanted to share some of the style tips and outfits with y’all!
First up is this gorgeous vintage embellished Etro top! A statement top is an easy way to wear vintage. Just throw it on with a pair of your favorite jeans. It was perfect to pair with my own white drop earrings, flare jeans, suede clogs and a bucket bag. I’d wear this outfit to meet up friends for coffee or lunch. To dress it up, I swap out the jeans for a pair of white/cream slack to wear to church or an art gallery showing.

My second favorite vintage items are dresses. You can find some fantastic ones at Vintage Tex like the bold statement sleeve floral dress and blue velvet dress. Pair them with your own pieces to make them look modern and fresh.
For the fabulous floral dress, I envision wearing this on vacation or for Summer. I’ve worn it with my own yellow tassel earrings, flat sandals, and rainbow clutch. Statement sleeves are HUGE this season, and this dress is right on par! P.S. The dress isn’t available anymore because it went home with me!

Velvet is another huge trend this year, and I was IN LOVE with this beautiful blue velvet dress as soon as I saw it. It’s the perfect dress for date night or GNO. To give it a little modern chic, I wore it with an embellished choker, moto jacket, simple sandals, and a black bag. This dress is so versatile that you could wear it in a more classic way with pearls and pumps too.

Anyhow, in case you couldn’t tell, I had SO MUCH FUN at Vintage Tex. They are located on Main Street in Grapevine, Texas and you can shop their more luxe pieces (like that Etro top and Lacoste dress that I pulled in the video) on their Etsy page. And we were so thrilled to team up with them for a fun giveaway!
Tanya, Natalie, and I each picked a piece from the store and they threw in a $50 gift card. Tanya picked that cute black box bag. Natalie chose the fab scarf, and I wanted chose that gorgeous brooch. The giveaway will be posted on Instagram later today!
Here’s the EyeOpener Facebook Live segment! Hope you enjoy!
Sorry for the lack of post on Wednesday! I’m still trying to catch up from the holidays! My BFFs are in town, and we are hanging out in between tumbling competitions. Hope y’all have a beautiful weekend!
Oh what amazing pieces you featured Sam! I can see why you picked that dress to take home, although I am a bit in love with that beautiful beaded top. Like a work of art! There’s so much detail on vintage pieces. I only have a couple in my wardrobe but I should keep an eye out for more :) Once my 6 month shopping ban is over, ha!
