It’s that time again… CHIC AT EVERY AGE. This week, we’re styling LOFT leggings!
For those of you that have just tuned in, this fab collab is exactly how it sounds… a chic chick in her 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s shows you how to style a piece in their own way. I’m working with some of my FAVORITE gals in Dallas!!

We are so excited to partner with LOFT to show y’all how to style leggings. Leggings are so easy and comfy, but it’s tricky to wear them the right way! We were definitely up for the challenge and wanted to show y’all that leggings aren’t just reserved for working out!
Who knew that you could wear leggings so many ways?! I tried a million different outfit permutations. One of the looks that I considered was this plaid peplum top, black blazer, and maroon leggings for a preppy office look. I also saw this AMAZING velvet dress that would work so well with the plum leggings for a 70s inspired outfit – serious Fall Goodness!
I finally decided on this one with a beautiful striped sweater, charcoal leggings, and knee high boots. It’s an easy and fast outfit but looks so chic. Of course, a pair of statement tassel earrings and oversized sunglasses were the perfect accessories to elevate and finish the look.
THE STYLE Rx: Leggings aren’t just for the gym! Be prepared to get comfy AND look polished when you wear a pair of leggings.
Cathy looks fabulous in that ruffle sleeve dress over her black leggings. She paired it with platform sandals which are perfect for our transitional (aka crazy) weather in Texas. Heather looks so polished in that chic blazer and faux leather leggings. Her look would be office ready with a change of the shoes! I got cozy in shades of grey and black an off the shoulder striped sweater and grey leggings. This look would be so fun for dinner with Mr. S or a weekend outing. Natalie had the same idea about coziness with a super soft tee and warm vest paired with the windowpane leggings. Her bump style is so cute!
My SIL, Kathryn, is so excited to see this post. She’s a teacher and told me that leggings are a way of life for them! She wanted to know what advice we had to wear leggings. Here are a few tips on how to rock your leggings:
- Make sure your bum is covered! Leggings are perfect under dresses (like this cute striped one), jackets, and tunic tops!
- Find leggings with fun details to dress up the look like these ankle zip, cargo pockets, faux leather, etc.
- Leggings are perfect for layering especially in Autumn/Winter (like Natalie has done) with booties or boots.
- When in doubt, wearing all one color (like black) from head to toe looks super chic.
- If your top is too short, then tie a jacket or sweater around your waist for a sporty look.
Are you a leggings gal? How do YOU wear them?
Happy Wednesday, Friends! Sorry this post isn’t on our normal Friday. We hit a few snags last week, and I was out of town in Colorado visiting my friend. Her father passed away, and she is like a sister to me. We’ll be back on schedule soon enough! I’m just trying to stay awake because Baby Girl wants to party at night, and Little M has regressed as far as going potty! I don’t know what’s going on!

Thanks Meg! It IS!! I actually needed it in a larger size so it would be a tad longer and I prefer it a little looser too!
BTW, LOVE the way you wore that Zara crop top! I wish we had one closer but then again…Maybe it’s better that we don’t! LOL!
Hah, yea, my closest Zara is in New York City I think. I usually order online during the sales and hope for the best ;P

Great to see how you all styled the leggings! Lovely post.
Thanks so much Nancy!
That’s such a cute tunic, I love it, perfect for autumn! I don’t wear leggings often but I agree with you, when I do I want my butt covered! Have seen more than I wanted to see when people in front of my have bent over in leggings – I didn’t know where to look once when the lady’s butt was directly at my eye level as I walked up the stairs behind her, and her leggings were sheer! I always cover my butt to avoid that!
We had a recent regression with toilet training too! I think they just go through phases until they become expert with it. My little one just gets too distracted by playing and forgets he needs to go sometimes, haha! Hope you manage to have a restful weekend at least, it has been such a crazy week for you.

Hi Mica!
Thanks for the words of support with Little M! I think he and Toddler T have the same issue – tried the hour timer trick yesterday and he didn’t have an accident. He just gets so busy with playing at school that he doesn’t go!
LOL at the butt at eye level incident! That’s NEVER fun! That’s why there’s such a debate on how to wear leggings and whether or not they are pants!
Yes it sounds like it! I asked the ladies at daycare to change from asking him if he wanted to got to the toilet to telling him it was time to go to the toilet – he was accident-free all day, just like he is at home when tell instead of asking. I think until they are bigger it’s too easy for them to get distracted by playing and forget! Hopefully they are back to their usual pretty much accident free selves again soon!
