Okay, I’ll just say it. I’m obsessed with Hermes scarves. I mean, who isn’t?! The craftsmanship and history behind the brand are phenomenal. Each scarf tells a different story. I’ve always romanticized the idea of having a simple wardrobe with quality basics and changing the look with scarves, just as the French supposedly do! (Right now, my closet tells a different story… but one day!)

Mr. S knows about my obsession with Hermes and is very sweet for indulging me from time to time. He gave me this beautiful maxi twilly and a shawl for my birthday. To say that I was delighted is an understatement. Anyhow, I HAD to wear one of them right away!
So, this is what I wore on my actual fortieth birthday for a brunch at Mercat Bistro – such a divine place and fantastic French ambiance on the patio. It also happened to be the same day that the Chic at Every Age gals and I hosted an event at Kendra Scott in Preston Plaza for Breast Cancer Awareness month. The necklace and earrings were part of the “buy one, give one” to a woman going through chemo treatment.
The long scarf with fun paired with a simple black top/bodysuit, flared jeans, and a moto jacket topper! Simple is always good! I felt very elegant AND edgy that day! :)
THE STYLE Rx: A silk scarf is a great versatile accessory. (I know that I mention them all the time, but I truly LOVE scarves!) You can wear it traditionally around your neck for a chic look (as done above and here). If it’s a square scarf, you can wear it as a cowboy knot, on your head, or cocoon vest (depending on the size)! Get a little edgy by wrapping it around your wrist like a bracelet or tucking a corner into your back jean pocket a la Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler! And easiest, you can always tie it around your bag handle for a pop of color!
Do you own a lot of scarves? How do you wear them? I have so many different types, from pocket squares to long skinny embellished scarves!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday! Hope y’all have a wonderful time with friends and family! BTW, I’ve updated the Shop the Sales page and will be updating regularly for Black Friday and Cyber Monday!
I plan on making my holiday list, and checking it ALL off by the end of next week! That will be such a load off so I can focus on other things since Christmas and New Years will be here in a flash!

Sooo gorgeous! I don’t really wear scarves because I feel like I can never style them. But the idea of owning an Hermes scarf is still so appealing. I’d also take one of their bangles. Wouldn’t say no to a Birkin either ;)

LOL!! Wouldn’t say no to a Birkin either! You just have to find one with a pattern/ story/ color that you like and I think that you would get a lot of cost per wear on it! :)
Oh I’d love a Hermes scarf! I have a couple of twillies (just the little ones) and I wear them on my wrist like a bracelet now and then. I need to wear them more often, it’s just hard when the kids are little. t’s a great idea to reserve them for a grown up date night like this! You look awesome Sam :) Maybe one day I’ll get a maxi twilly, I really like the way this looks on you.

Thanks Mica! Yes, the twillies are awesome! You can wrap them around your Balenciaga classic handles if you wanted to wear them more! (I know what you mean about the littles!) I can only wear them on my head/in my hair when I’m with them although I’d love to wear them as bracelets like you do.
And the maxi twilly is great bc you can wear it as a belt also (and so many other ways)!!
[…] wardrobe pieces. I have them in different colors and makes/materials. (See it worn here in pink, w/jeans + scarf, over a midi dress, with tie-dye jeans, over a fit-and-flare dress.) If you don’t have one, […]
