Happy LOVE Day Y’all!! We went over to JOY Macarons at The Shops at Clearfork when we were shooting the last From Grandma with Love. It is the CUTEST place, and the macarons are YUM-MY!!! And actually, they matched my outfit so it was a perfect time to get some fun shots for Valentine’s Day!

It also happens to be Ash Wednesday which starts the Lenten Season! We, as a couple, have decided to give up Netflix shows since WE ARE ADDICTED! They were reserved for weekend nights but starting bleeding into weeknights = staying up too late and being tired the next day. We said that it’s okay to watch Netflix movies on the weekend! Wish us luck!
Personally, I am going to give up free reign to checking social media. I heard the saying that you should be checking in with God as many times as you check your phone. So, I want to be more intentional with my time and schedule times for social media. Additionally, I’m trying to come up with one more thing to do or give up for Lent. Dr. Italy spoke at Saint Patrick Cathedral, and I bought his book 40 Days, 40 Ways: A New Look at Lent for a new approach for the season. The first part is a list of 40 things that you could try for Lent (instead of giving up chocolate), and he challenged us to look over the list and pick 3 items to do.
The last thing I’m doing is going through the Best Lent Ever Journal from Dynamic Catholic. It another way to incorporate daily readings from the Bible to start the day off right!

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!!
I’m a horrible Catholic and don’t usually givde anything up for Lent. Last year I was able to give up shopping for clothes the whole 40 days, maybe I could do it again…
I’m visiting my boyfriend in Missouri and so far we made breakfast and exchanged our small gifts. Now we’re both working from home and watching the Olympics. Going out to dinner later and that’s it. Ha ha. My first year with a Valentine ;)

These photos are so fun Sam! We don’t do lent so I won’t be doing anything special, but I like the idea of checking my phone less. The battery on my phone hasn’t been as good as usual, so I thought of getting a new one for Christmas, but decided to stick with this old one another year. It means I’m using it less so I don’t drain all the battery in a day, haha! I couldn’t give up my Netflix though, good luck to you with that one!

Yes, that’s so good Mica. We now have a limited data plan so it’s kind of like the dying battery! It’s a good excuse to check it less!
And LOL about Netflix. When Mr. S came home yesterday, he said that he didn’t want to give up Netflix anymore! Haha! We did NOT watch a show last night and talked instead. It was definitely an exercise in restraint, but I like that we had to keep each other company. Just wondering how long this will last!
The limited data is a good idea, to stop you checking it constantly when you’re out! I had that for a while too :)

It’s been a long time. I have been checking in and reading posts when I can, Your outfits looks so fun and the pink color is one of my favorites. The macaroons look delish.
My husband and I recently went on a 21 day fast for the month of January with our church, we are non-denominational. We did the Daniel Fast, this is the third year we have done it. It wasn’t easy but our Pastor would do a five minute video every day focusing on the book of Proverbs and he would go over a verse each day. Great to watch on our phone, or the Roku. The book of Proverbs is a real encouraging Chapter of wisdom.
