FIVE STYLE SECRETS (freebie)

Get insider access to my newsletter.

When packing for travel, I pick the shoes and purse first and plan the wardrobe around those items!  That’s probably a little backwards compared to most people!  For my Chicago trip, I chose the tall brown boots and green Chanel purse.  So all clothing items had to match those warm colors.  This green dress, previously worn here, fit the bill and went into the suitcase.  Green matches green right?  {According the Health Magazine, army green is flattering on all skin tones.  Give it a try!}

dress :: Anthropologie
belt :: H&M
earrings :: Premier
cuff :: MaiTai
scarf :: Hermes (gifted from Mr. S)
boots :: Dillards
bag :: Chanel
After getting the dress on, I felt there was too much green going on!  Did I just say that green matches green? Oops!  I threw on the scarf at the last minute.  It was an added incentive since I had to check my carry on bag and didn’t want to loose the scarf!
This is a modified cowboy knot.  It’s very easy to wear (and can even hide food stains on your shirt – just saying).  I used a 90cm square scarf.

 Fold it into a triangle.

 Tie it into a knot and place over your head like a necklace.

You can even wear a square scarf as an “infinity scarf” as shown in my old post here!

Okay, since my title was a little deceiving, I’ll give you a little info on going green for real!  Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a TV for three hours — or the equivalent of a half a gallon of gasoline.  Go green!  {Factoid from A Recycling Revolution}

    Love this dress and the scarf is such a perfect splash of color. I agree with Health, army/olive green works with most skin tones and coordinates well with most colors- its such a staple color for me my bff calls me Wilderness Girl, lol.

  3. SkippySays says:

    Love this look and I agree that adding a splash of color to break up the greens was the way to go! And I love the color of those brown boots!

    Hi Sam: I adore this outfit for many reasons. The military green dress is super chic/boots are beautifully paired with the dress. Adding that H scarf is just brilliant. I have been thinking of ways to incorporate a bright and bold fushia and salmon colored H scarf into my outfit without looking tacky, you answered my pray! Thanks for an inspiration :)

    Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on my post. I totally agree that we all can feel that pressure at some point in our blogging journey. However, I think it is important to remember the “true” joy of blogging. Once we are stressful to blog, there is no fun/motivation. Last but not least, I believe in “not blogging to please anyone but myself”. Sounds tacky and self centered but isn’t that why we started blogging, right? Have a great week and happy blogging :o)

  7. Jeannie says:
