So I’m finally posting about my camel coat purchased during one of the major Saks Fifth Avenue sales last year. It was one of my FIVE PIECES for Fall/Winter 2014. It was still an investment being on sale, but the color and cut are timeless so I’ll get a lot of wear with it. I especially love the high funnel neck collar to protect me from the chill. It’s currently my go-to coat.
It was the perfect topper for the cozy sweater I’m wearing. I’m snickering because it’s grey. As I mentioned before, there’s a lot of grey in my house and closet! The sweater is from High Fashion Home in Houston, Texas. If you aren’t familiar with them, your home and closet, will thank me later. They have FABULOUS items to dress your home and yourself! Need some decor inspiration, just walk around and take in the 4 floors of beautiful vignettes. Finish up on the 1st floor with lighting, gifts, and a boutique full of gorgeous clothing and jewelry! You will be addicted. I know because I am. Whenever I’m in Houston visiting my family, I always take some time to drop by the store. My dining room table is from HFH.
The Style Rx: A camel coat is a great piece to keep you warm and wonderfully chic at the same time. Camel is a beautiful neutral color that pairs well with so many colors… cream, grey, navy, black, and even marsala! And… you MUST stop by High Fashion Home if you live in Houston! You can also visit their site at highfashionhome.com, but they carry a limited selection of their boutique items online.
What’s your go-to coat?! Have you heard or visited High Fashion Home?

Love that coat! I haven’t really been wearing any of my coats this year because I haven’t had to be outside for that long, haha….basically – get in car > drive to location > run inside

Technically, that can be true here too!! Get in car > drive > run inside! But when Little M is with me, it takes a little longer to get to where we are going so EVERYONE has to be bundled up!!
Such great details!

This is such a smart look and I love your bag!
Thanks so much Janie!! :) Always LOVING what y’all are up to on The Perennial Style!! xx
You look so incredibly stylish in layers Sam! And it’s not all just the coat, you manage to pair pieces together so well :) I always feel a bit lost when winter really hits here, I’m not the best at layering!
That similar scarf you linked to at Asos is now out of stock, which is a good thing I guess as I’m so short I can never pull off blanket scarves…as much as I keep buying them and trying haha!

Mica, you always look great… even in winter!!!
And it’s so funny about blanket scarves. My friend gave this me as a gift after a trip to Russia in 2007. At first, I had it laid out on my chair in the living room since it literally is the size of a small blanket! Since it was so pretty, I had to find a way to wear it. It’s a little bigger than Little M’s blanket. I had visions of Little T’s blankets wrapped around you and it made me LOL!
I’m REALLY SURE that you can pull off blanket scarves! You are the always rocking great scarves (and accessories)!!!
All of the details make this neutral look so interesting!
