Black, white, and pearls… A classic combination that is easy for work, a lunch date, or night out with the girls.
After I got back from the mission trip, I vegged out on the couch for a day and a half. In that time, I watched all two seasons of Lipstick Jungle on NetFlix. {Mr. S was out of town on his mission trip, so I had a free pass to watch girly shows, wear PJs, not leave the house, and eat noodles!! LOL!}
If you haven’t seen the show, at least google “Lipstick Jungle wardrobe” to check out their attire. I am IN LOVE with the wardrobe! This outfit is an inspiration from Victory Ford’s character. I wore a variation with pants and two less strand of pearls to work a couple 2 weeks ago – it was a pants kind of day!
And please ignore the bugs again!

Gosh, I can’t stop looking at your bag S! It is simply gorgeous and pairs so well with this classic look! I have not watched Lipstick Jungle but am a fan of Gossip Girl though I have to watch reruns on hulu.com now and then =)
Confession time. After watching Lipstick Jungle, I started looking for jobs in NY and moved to CT from FL within 4 months of the show’s 2nd, and sadly final, season.

Gorgeous outfit! Very retro-chic. I haven’t replicated too many outfits – but I really love the wardrobe from Mad Men. Everyone was just so put together and well coiffed.

I agree with all the commenters so far – a beautiful outfit! It’s classy, with a breezy glamour that brings to mind Hollywood’s Golden Age. I’m rather intrigued by how well those contemporary-style glasses work with your overall look!
As for TV shows that influence(d) my own look, I have to say that I’ve never quite held the overall fashion of any one show as a model to emulate. However, some details here and there have filtered through. The blazer Patrick McGoohan wears in The Prisoner always appealed, and persuaded me to make use of a tuxedo blazer I found at a thrift store when the weather is actually cool enough. And as I always enjoyed Tom Baker’s ridiculously long scarf in Dr. Who, I have had all of my scarves knitted to ridiculously long lengths. Unfortunately, with the notable exception of shows like Mad Men, I don’t tend to find many shows that offer distinct men’s fashions to draw inspiration from. Genre shows fare better, but tend to be costumy in real life…
Oh wow, this outfit is great – I love all the layered pearls. Gives it a tad bit more edge than straight up classic! And there’s my friend again in the background, haha! I’d have to say Gossip Girl inspires my wardrobe the most of any shows I watch, but it’s been suckin’ so bad lately I think I’m done after this season finishes.

OMG I love this Sam! The skirt is really beautiful, I love that fabric and of course I love that Kelly Bag. Years ago when Lipstick jungle first aired Cashmere Mafia was also debuting on tv. OMG that fashion was AMAZING and Lucy Liu was the star of the show. I loved everything they wore and bought the first season dvd just for the fashion. Sadly due to the writer’s strike the show wasn’t renewed.
