Hey Friends! Happy Wednesday. This week is going by so quickly and slowly at the same time! I have so much to do (playing catch up from being out of town) and wish it were the weekend already. Little M kept falling over the weekend, so that bought us a trip to the doctor on Monday. As suspected, he was developing another ear infection. He will be on antibiotics until his tympanostomy (ear tubes) scheduled for Friday. There is an “easy button”. Has anyone invented the “Friday button” yet?

This is an outfit that I wore to a Darling Dinner in Dallas last month.  “What’s a Darling Dinner?”, you ask. Well, let me tell you! It was a FAB.U.LOUS dinner hosted by Darling Magazine and Lou & Grey at The Americano for a few bloggers. I thoroughly enjoyed the food AND the “art of conversation”.

In case you aren’t familiar with Darling Magazine, they are a women-centric magazine that deals in realness and authenticity. What I mean is that they do NOT use Photoshop and use real people in their magazines. In their current issue, they’re featuring the first professional model with Down Syndrome among other amazing women. I’m hooked! The reason I went into all of that details is to explain how they like to engage with people. On their website, you’ll see three columns showing their mission, latest issue, and “today’s conversation”. During our dinner, they prompted us with conversation questions to get to know each other. What are you doing right now to be fierce (the theme of their latest issue)? What is one of the hardest things you’ve had to overcome? It was such a fun experience!

Lou and Grey is a company that was born of the need for comfort AND style. Hey, that’s my bag baby! You’ll find beautiful basics and rich texture pieces. We received a gift card, and I purchased this ring, made from repurposed watch parts, and this fringe sweater. They’ll be making an appearance on the blog in the future.

You can’t go wrong with a classic white button up! I was inspired by the Darling Magazine cover and paired my white boyfriend shirt with faux leather culottes. Those Gucci clogs, scored at Clothes Circuit, were looking for any excuse to be worn. To finish the look, I wore that gorgeous Julie Vos pendant necklace wrapped around my neck. If you have Snapchat, I gave a little review about it. I’m pretty much obsessed because the pendant has two sides, and so it can be worn FOUR different ways (long and short, big pearl or little pearl cabochon as shown)! Stay tuned for an upcoming post featuring that necklace worn a different way.

THE STYLE Rx: A classic white button-up shirt is a wardrobe staple. It can be dressed up (think of pairing it with a midi skirt or maxi skirt), worn for work (with a blazer, pencil skirt, and heels), or casually (with skinny jeans and flats a la Audrey Hepburn). Never underestimate the power of a white oxford shirt!

How do you wear white button up shirts? And have you heard of Darling Magazine or Lou & Grey? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

P.S. The founder and designer or Frank & Eileen, Audrey McLoghlin, will be at Neiman Marcus Northpark in Dallas this Saturday, April 16th, for a pop-up shop! That’s the brand of the fantastic ‘Eileen’ shirt that I’m wearing in this post! I have a few of their shirts and absolutely LOVE them, especially the linen ones! #MadeinSunnyCalifornia

P.P.S. This is the mission statement of Darling Magazine. Isn’t is absolutely fantastic and DARLING?!
