Happy Monday Friends! Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. Little M recovered quickly after his ear surgery, although remained a bit grouchy… or maybe that’s just the “terrible twos”! We also had a chance to catch up with family yesterday – always a lovely time.
Remember when I told you that I “cheated” on my clothing “diet”? Well, here it is! The top and the culottes were could-not-pass-up pieces from Pax & Parker in Fort Worth. I was lucky enough to work with them for that Fort Worth Texas Magazine shoot. Although I was able to leave empty-handed when I first visited, it was impossible to resist when I returned the clothes from the shoot and then found the sale rack. The POSITIVE is that these are “cheat-worthy” wardrobe staples. I will be able to wear them time and time again.
Even though it’s a white blouse and black culottes, they are individually so unique. I love the asymmetrical layers on the top, and culottes get me EVERY time. Seriously, I’ve been stocking up on those and wide legged pants since they’re “back in trend”. They are so flattering AND comfortable. Together, the top and culottes make such an architectural pair – the stairs at the Kimbell were the perfect setting. BTW, I had a few “funky” poses before we found one that didn’t look so awkward! LOL!
THE STYLE Rx: Check out Pax & Parker STAT (if you live in Fort Worth)! Also, pair black and white for a classic combination that always looks chic. Bonus if you can find design details that make each piece different!
I’ve worn this outfit to work with different heels, and I’ve worn the top with high-waisted skinny jeans and booties. What’s your secret for styling black and white? Sometimes, I do a pop of color too!

Love this!! Those pants are amazing! I cheated on my clothing diet too. I bought a pair of sandals at the beginning of the month and said “NO MORE THIS MONTH!” and then I bought a romper last week on Gilt! Ha ha!
