In case you didn’t know, I’m a little too obsessed with the French… and also with those Aussies! {See my love for Australian designer labels Style Stalker and C/MEO here and here.} That gorgeous corset top is designed by Australian designer, Josh Goot. I know know his name because I stalk admire his girlfriend Christine Centenera, senior fashion editor for Vogue Australia. You’ve probably seen her in his designs.
Anyhow, his designs are so modern and architectural with their lines. I’ve always wanted to own one of his pieces, and I was stoked when I saw it on Yoox.com! It was too goot to pass up! I know… so punny! This “orchid mirror” corset is like a piece of artwork to me. P.S. It’s definitely a corset because it sucks me in and keeps me there with all the boning! I will probably wear this exact look to my cousin’s wedding in September. Although it may be hard to handle a very busy two-year old in a corset, short skirt, and heels… so what am I thinking?!
The Style Rx: Style a strapless corset/top with a skirt and heels for a feminine flair. Change out the skirt for culottes (yes you read that correctly) for a more modern take on dressing up! Get formal by pairing it with a long maxi skirt and you’ll be ready for your Cinderella moment!
FYI, I admire so many designers, but it is EXTREMELY difficult for me to justify paying full price for something that is current (unless it’s Chanel – damn them!). I usually find deals when they are “past-season” like at Last Call Neimain Marcus, Barneys Warehouse, The Outnet, Yoox, Off Saks, and Nordstrom Rack. I tend to buy trendier pieces at high-street stores like Target, Zara, or H&M. What about you? Do you purchase full price, and are you able to justify cost-per-wear? {That’s how I rationalize if I pay full price!}

That corset is beautiful and I love how you’ve styled it with the skirt! :)
Although yes it might not be the best outfit for running around with a toddler, surely you could get away with it for one evening? :)
I’m the same as you too – my biggest splurges are always off-season sale items! :)

I love C/Meo (or Cameo Collective)! Love your top also, so intricate and it looks like it’s high quality material (which is my issue with non-designer stuff).
I’ve been buying a lot of designer stuff lately and I’ve definitely been justifying it by cost per wear (or compliment per wear).

Love the top but it needed the heels to finish the outfit. So fun!
