To continue with last week’s Chic at Every Age post, I’m sharing what I wore to a wedding last month. Mr. S and I celebrated our TWELVE year wedding anniversary last month! On that date, we actually attended another friend’s wedding to celebrate their special day. I LOVE love and the idea of romance!
The wedding was set at the Dallas Arboretum in Crepe Myrtle Alley. Since it was an outdoor wedding, I searched for something simple and flowy (instead of form fitting). The thoughts of beautiful flowers inspired me to find something floral or bright. As soon I saw this tangerine dress, I knew it was THE ONE… and for less than $150, I was a happy girl!
The architectural shape of the dress was the perfect complement to the classic pearl and rhinestone necklace. And I couldn’t resist wearing my butterfly ring since it would only be natural for them to be found in a beautiful garden! Now my shoe choice, gladiator heels, was NOT the best idea, and nude wedges would have been a better option for the muddy grounds. It had been raining, but fashion always takes precedence right?!
The Style Rx: Stick with simple and strappy dresses for an outdoor wedding! You’ll look gorgeous and will enjoy the wedding… instead of worrying about perspiration spots!
Oh yes, I’ll let you know about a little secret I discovered. Have you ever heard of Nippies?!! They are the BEST invention ever! Basically, it’s a reusable silicone covers for your nipples – an AMAZING alternative to a strapless bra for those oddly shaped or cut tops and dresses. I wore it all night without any surprise silicone covers ending up on my feet! I seriously always worry about that! I know what you’re thinking… why not use bandaids?! Well, I have… and I now react to the adhesive… so a very unpleasant gift after a night out. Anyhow, I digress! These are your new summer BFFs! For real, yo!
Happy Monday Friends! Hope you had a restful weekend.
Any upcoming weddings for you? And have you heard of or tried Nippies? It’s hard not to snicker when I say it!

Oh love that bright dress on you! Happy anniversary, and congratulations to your friends who got married! :)
I’d never heard of nippies before haha. It is a funny name! I tend to just put dresses or tops back if they require strapless bras or anything fancy coverage-wise! Does limit my options when shopping, but makes it easier picking what to wear from my wardrobe :)

Hi there – I don’t mean to be too forward, but do you mind sharing your measurements? I tried this dress in a S and M and found the top part was too short for me. For reference, I’m 5’8″ and wear a size 4 (on a good day). I’m wondering if maybe this is best for petite ladies. It’s soon pretty I’m thinking of trying it again.
Thanks!
Hi Shawn! I am wearing a size S. I’m 5’4″ and wear size 34/4 on top. It does cut a little narrow on the top which could be problematic bc it may show a little side cleavage. Hope that helps! You can ask more questions if not!
Thanks so much for the help! I just ordered it again in a small to see if I could make it work. I remember the M fit a little better (not much) but it was just huge otherwise. Fingers crossed! :) It looks stunning on you. Hope you get lots more wear out of it.
Fingers crossed that the S fits!! Yes, I’m hoping to get more wear out of it. I think it would be really cute wearing it with gold slides, a more casual look! It’s perfect for dressing up and down!
[…] Architecturally, it’s stunning (thanks to Tadao Ando). Every view is breath-taking, and it makes me feel so at peace when I walk through to view the exhibits, browse the shop, or take advantage of the amazing eats in the cafe. It’s one of my favorite brunch places, and I’ve hosted a bridal brunch there. The main dining area has floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the serene reflecting pond and Roxy Paine’s “Conjoined” tree sculpture. I seriously could go on and on about this museum, but YOU should see it for yourself. (You can see the reflecting pond in this post, and the tree sculpture in this post.) […]
