Hello GlamFam! You are in for a treat because this brand has been a favorite of mine for years, and there’s no gatekeeping around here. I’ve posted about HerStory MANY TIMES on Instagram and the blog, and TODAY we’re collaborating on a HerStory Beach Vacation Edit! Even more exciting, they now have a Gallery in Sundance Square (aka a brick and mortar pop up) so you can go in person to visit and see all of the fabulous pieces they carry.
In case you aren’t familiar, HerStory is a collective of women-owned small businesses that make a social impact locally and globally. The brand shares “wearable stories” of pieces touched by women all over the world by brands like Akola Jewelry and Kahindo NY (both made in Africa), and My Saint My Hero and Noble 31 (local to DFW) to name a few. In the Gallery, they have a curated collection of pieces that are edited by the location of production. It’s truly a beautiful place to visit and see/touch/feel all the things. If you aren’t in Fort Worth, then you can shop the entire collection online. And believe me, it’s AMAZING what they carry.
The above photos are different parts of the gallery and also me with one of the HerStory founders and friend, Tinsley. She is such an inspiring person, and I’m so happy to call her a friend. It’s been amazing to watch her grow the brand and really build it up to benefit all of these other women too! I love what she is doing!
I stopped by the HerStory Gallery recently to find some things for our upcoming Manhattan Beach trip and cannot wait to share what I found in store as well as online!

HERSTORY BEACH VACATION EDIT
Instead of the usual blog post, I am sharing our fun Q&A (question and answer) session that we had!
Q: Where are you traveling to and what inspired your edit?
We are heading to beautiful Manhattan Beach, CA which inspired my Summer Beach edit!
Q: Why did you choose the products above? What makes the HerStory product or brand that you chose above special to you and your trip?
The items above are perfect for an upcoming beach vacation! One of my tricks during beach time with the family or after showering and heading to dinner is to add a hair mask and then pull my hair back into a chignon. The hat, one piece swim, skirt coverup, Miami Beach Bum items, and Fisherman tote are the beach essentials that will keep you looking chic and still able to maneuver with Littles. Plus, l love that the Miami Beach Bum Blocked sunblock is a clean product and also safe for my children.
The Zanzibar dress is a quintessential summer dress that can take you to a dress up dinner or casual lunch. Having a wear-anywhere dress is always perfect for vacation. Just wear it with the Akola linear earrings and bracelet stack, and you are good to go!
Q: What inspires you to book a trip and how do you pack based on where you are headed?
Since we have Littles, we book a trip based on what will work to make fun memories for all of us. Our family LOVES the beach, and it’s so magical when we can do it together.
Q: Do you shop when you travel? What’s your favorite way to shop abroad?
If there is time, then I will shop. We usually will get a souvenir from each location so we have something to remind us of that special time.
Q: Any tips and tricks you can share with us for planning and packing outfits for vacations?
For packing, I curate outfits based on our activities. It’s easier when it’s a destination like Manhattan Beach where we traveled previously. We do a lot of beach time, walking, and dining so it’s simple to pack for myself and the Littles.
For the Littles, I pack each daily outfit in a Ziplock bag (or packing cube) so they just need to open and get dressed. The less thinking, the better! LOL! For myself, I will usually try on and curate before leaving so that I don’t overpack. The try-on session happens for outfits that I haven’t worn previously. I am a proud outfit repeater! :)
THE STYLE Rx: Find your next wearable story at HerStory!
Q: How does what you wear tell a story when you travel?
Your outfit is always a reflection and expression of you! I’ve met the most amazing people based on an outfit I was wearing. When it’s something unique OR uniquely put together, I’ve had people come up and start conversations.
I LOVE walking to the beach, restaurants, and shops in Manhattan Beach. It’s my FAVORITE thing to do – being out and enjoying the beautiful sights and sounds of nature. Since the Littles are older this year, we may actual have a “tentative itinerary” planned and see how that goes!
HerStory is such a special brand because it represents many women locally and around the world and was started during a time when that was needed most (COVID). HerStory carries the most beautiful and unique pieces for any occasion, clean beauty, home, and so much more. The best part is that when you purchase something, it is making a social impact to a female led community and touches so many more people than just that one item. The Gallery is such a gorgeous space, and I love that you can shop or hang out there. We are SO HAPPY to have a place like that in Fort Worth.
HerStory is having a 48-hour Summer Sale starting TODAY, July 16th at 8am EST. Customers can enjoy 25% off their order when they spend $100 or more. They don’t do site wide sales like this often, so take advantage! The sale includes all brands on our site except for Anna New York. Use this code at checkout: HERSTORYSUMMER
VACATION OUTFIT PICKS
They have SO MANY CUTE THINGS in the Gallery, and you are probably curious about what I found! So here are some outfit picks that I purchased or are on my wishlist for upcoming events/travel!
Who doesn’t love easy elastic waist pants during vacation?! I’m all about looking chic AND being comfortable, and these jungle print pants checked off both boxes. I paired it with my own Laude the Label tank (past season at HerStory), linen shirt, and finished the outfit with fun pops of color – Noble 31 scarf and XNihilo mini bag.
Banniere jungle pants
Noble 31 Scarf
Akola bracelet stack
XNihilo mini bag
You can go from beach to dinner in a snap with this beautiful dress. Pull your hair back and add accessories like the Mignonne Gavigan flower earrings (unbelievably lightweight for a statement earring), Akola bracelet stack, and the Pajara Pinta hat.
Miguelina dress
Mignonne Gavigan earrings
Akola bracelet stack
Pajara Pinta hat
An easy to throw on dress is ALWAYS a Summer Staple, and this red dress is one that makes a statement in a good way. I am wearing size medium but could have taken a small so it’s pretty forgiving because of the elastic neckline. Red and blue are complimentary colors and look so fun when paired together especially with these icy blue picks – Mignonne Gavigan reversible multiway necklace and XNihilo micro bag. I also had on Akola Jewelry earrings and bracelet stack.
Hermoza Swim dress (white online, but contact store for red)
Mignonne Gavigan reversible multiway necklace
Akola earrings & Akola bracelet stack
XNihilo Micro bag
This Llani outfit is quilted pink and blue goodness and is the perfect travel set. It’s more elevated than sweats but just as comfortable, and the whole set is less than $200. I sized up to medium for a looser and comfy fit and plan on wearing a tank under so that I can take off the top in the airplane if it gets too warm. Run, don’t walk for this one!

Happy Sunday GlamFam! I’ve been working at the hospital this weekend, and Mr. S and kids have been going to birthday parties and having lots of fun. I think Mr. S probably needs some downtime right about now! LOL! We are getting ready to head to Manhattan Beach, CA next week, and I couldn’t be more excited. The beach is my happy place. I just LOVE sitting on the sand, watching the ocean, and listening to the sounds. If you have any Manhattan Beach and area recommendations, then please let me know in the comments. Until the next post!
Thank you so much for stopping by and supporting SOS!
