It wasn’t my original intention, but this cape top was appropriately themed for a Saturday matinee showing of the Dracula ballet! The show was absolutely amazing!
There is a funny story behind this beautiful cape top that I wore to the ballet. I may have mentioned my cousin Iris a couple of times. Recently, she sent me a package with those eyeshadow palettes, this gorgeous top, and a pair of earrings. It was like Christmas x 10!! She found this beautiful silk chiffon “thingie” {as we call it} on clearance at Bloomingdales. The sales associate helped her figure out how to put it on. Since there were two, she was sweet enough to get one for herself and one for me! We both laughed at how gorgeous it was but so difficult to put on! After Mr. S and I got home from the ballet, I was getting rid of the tags away when I saw “Zami Dress” on the label. I texted her and we both got a good laugh again! This darn “thingie” is supposed to be a DRESS!
Mr. S helped me take these pictures! Can you tell how excited I am by my goofy grins? Finally, I had a real photographer for 5 minutes. He was proud of himself because he loves cars and his Land Cruiser was in the background. He made me promise to put a pic with the “Cruiser” in the blog! I love you Mr. S!
Also, I wanted to thank Kristen of the The Clothing Menu!! She featured my blog twice this week on work attire! You can see a post here and here!!
Happy Friday! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!
How can that be a dress? It’s not long enough, unless it is one of those ‘tie it in 100 different ways’ type dresses. LOL! I think it looks great the way you have it! Niki
I really enjoy the Dracula ballet – usually I’m not into the contemporary ballets, I much prefer the 1830s-1900s in aesthetic but Dracula is super cool (maybe it’s my penchant for the macabre). Anyways, you look great!
What a fun look! Your story is so funny. I would be confused too. I kept looking at your pictures and couldn’t figure out how you would wear it as a dress. If you figure that out, you should show us on your blog sometimes :D. Have a great weekend!
That’s a great tank under the cape….you should have put up the pic you sent me of the ‘thingy’ when you figured it out as a dress!! I still have the pic (for reference lol) if you want me to text back to you. Have an awesome weekend!!
Your cousin find this ‘thingie’ on clearance at bloomies and it is from all saints?!?! AHHH! Love that store, although I can never find bessie deemed bargain prices in there. I think this looks awesome as a cape, very boho look…hope to see it on you as the dress next time!
sam, that cape is absolutely gorgeous!! nothing like getting a care package… your cousin is just amazing! :) hope you have a fabulous weekend, sam! you always look amazing. :)
Ha, I can’t figure out how to make the “cape” a dress from the pictures but its a very lovely cape, I really like the pattern and open back. Your zipped jeans and envelope bag are really cute too!
LOL Sam!!! It’s a dress? Did you two try wearing it as one? HAHAHAHAHA I think it’s gorgeous and the photos are gorgeous girl. Your hubby is too funny. http://www.averysweetblog.com/
Hi Sam you look beautiful as always! The Dracula ballet sounds mysterious and intriguing, what a gret way to spend an afternoon. Your pics look awesome … Kudos to Mr. S!
