Hey Friends! I met a fabulous gal named Alison of Wardrobe Oxygen last weekend at the CABI Fall Launch. She’s from Washington DC and is one of the coolest and realist blogger/mom bosses that I’ve ever met. Alison does a monthly roundup of her off blog outfits, and I asked her if it would be okay if I did the same. So here we are today! BTW, you really need to check her out!
Our dessert discussion totally inspired me to show y’all more of what I wear that’s not on the blog. I attempted this years ago in my SOS Off Duty post and more recently with my Manic MomDay series but only showed you one outfit at a time. This series will be way more relaxed and real because most of my pictures are selfies! LOL!
In this updated #ManicMomDay series, I’m showing you what I wore OFF THE BLOG. What gets shown on the blog are my “fun” and fashion outfits, but you don’t have a chance to see my everyday and/or work outfits.
You’ll notice a trend – lots of Reformation and Target dresses and/or jeans with white tops! LOL! Those are basically my uniform in Summer. I’ve categorized them into casual, work, and occasions.
CASUAL OUTFITS
MY UNIFORM = WHITE TOP + JEANS. I’ve worn this outfit countless times for running errands or hanging out with the kids. It’s a Target top and old H&M jeans (similar) with these white espadrilles. Sometimes, I’ll wear cropped skinny jeans instead so I can wear flat sandals depending on the activity i.e. park with the littles.
You know my obsession with Target aka Tarjay is REAL. In fact, I bought this dress in two colors – blue and floral. It’s a cotton poplin with a fabulous high low hem and so easy and comfortable to wear.
I wore the floral dress to church with a cropped pink blazer (no shoulders showing), pink fringe earrings, and pink mules. Does someone like pink?! The blue dress was perfect for 4th of July with red tassel earrings and white sandals. I’ve also worn both countless other times running around town.
Farmer’s Market Saturday! I wore this on a weekend to attend the local farmers market and lunch with the family. This is one of my favorite linen tops (ALWAYS a fan of this material) by a designer, Ruti, that I raved about in this post. Having batwings makes you cool right?! LOL! The cropped flared jeans are from my fave brand, Reformation. To be comfy, I wearing Vionic sandals and my heart sunglasses always make me happy. That weekend, I was using the silver backpack as a baby bag.
Linen AGAIN! All dressed up and ready for Costco, Walgreens, and Tom Thumb! This is what I wore to run errands the day before Little M’s birthday party! I love the cropped version of this top so much that I nabbed the longer version as soon as it came out. I recently got these high waisted jeans (from you guessed it Reformation) and cut the hem off. DIY post coming soon but I did a quick mention of how to do it in this post. Couldn’t resist adding some sparkle with these No 21 bow mules I found on sale. In case you couldn’t tell, I’m all about the 90s and wearing my tube hoops earrings like they’re going out of style (again)!
Blue for my boy! This is what I wore for Little M’s birthday party at the Fort Worth Zoo! I’ve also worn this outfit for a Kindergarten preview. It’s an old H&M top (similar here & here) – I’m a sucker for anything with puff sleeves. And these Veronica Beard jeans are like Spanx (which I mentioned in this post)! Excuse the smudges on the mirror!
Cleaning Day! Or more like donation day! This was the day I went to finally face all the bags that I put upstairs (away from my view – tip from A Simplified Life) and bring it to the Center for Transforming Lives for donation. I wanted to look cute so I wore my off the shoulder gingham top (old Tarjay, similar) and my fave white distressed jeans from CABI. I didn’t do my hair so I camouflaged it with a Ban.do headband!
WORK OUTFITS
Basic Black is my style for work. I literally ALWAYS reach for this CABI wrap top because it feels like I’m wearing my PJs to work (but look WAY nicer -seen in this post)! This is a super old skirt from Marshalls (similar) but I love the flare hem. OMG, these Thierry Rabotin are my FAVORITE shoes because they ARE SO COMFORTABLE but still look sophisticated. I wish they still made the Faith pumps, but I found a similar one here. (I wore them in this post.) Again, excuse the mirror smudges!
“You can call me Flowers if you want to!” Do you remember where that quote is from? It’s from Bambi! Anthropologie gets me every time. I HARDLY set foot in the store because 1) I don’t have time and usually do online shopping late at night when the kids are asleep and 2) I want to buy EVERYTHING in the store. Case in point… I went to Anthro to buy ONE dress and left with three dresses and two earrings including this Tracy Reese dress. YIKES! And yes, those flowers earrings (similar) were part of my loot. Darn it! Wearing the Julie Vos Valencia necklace double wrapped and of course my Thierry Rabotin pumps (similar).
Peplum and stripes – WHOA! Such a change from my normal black for work but such a happy outfit. It’s a Marchesa top from Clothes Circuit and asymmetrical hem skirt from Target. And… my same Theirry Rabotin pumps (similar).
OCCASION OUTFITS
Can NOT get enough ruffles! I was co-hosting a fashion show with my gorgeous friend, Stacey of Life on Ladera, for Meals on Wheels. You would never guess it, but this asymmetrical ruffle dress is also from Target! LOL! I wear these flower statement earrings by Lele Sadoughi ALL.THE.TIME. and I finished the look with flower heels from Sophia Webster.
Celebrating LIFE! Cathy had a 5-year Cancerversary celebration and I decided to wear a Veronica Beard matched set – crop top + pants with a vintage Chanel belt. We are both wearing our silver Gucci mules. I feel so blessed to have Cathy in my life!
BABY Shower time! We threw a baby shower for Mary, and Debby didn’t get the memo for white! Just kidding! We definitely didn’t plan it this way, and Debby still looks as gorgeous as ever. I’m wearing pear drop statement earrings and a yellow gingham top from Beehive. (I also like to stay away because it rains money when I walk in – LOL!) And those are old Alice & Olivia trousers that are so great for everything!
Happy Monday Y’all! We had a fun Fort Worth Zoo birthday party for Little M and his cousin on Saturday. They share the same birthdate exactly one year apart! Even though it was hot, we were in the Education Center (indoors) and had some animal visitors at the party! They had a blast!
Now, we’re getting ready for our upcoming Washington DC trip, and the kids are excited! I am too since we’ll be seeing my BFF and her family before they move to Israel. Thank you to Phelicia for the suggestion to eat the USDA cafeteria! We are totally going to do it! If you have any recommendations for DC, then please comment below! :)
Thank you so much for stopping by and supporting SOS! I truly appreciate it!
