It’s that time again… CHIC AT EVERY AGE. This week, we’re our favorite jeans from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Jeans are one my closet staples, so read on to see which one I picked.
For those of you that have just tuned in, this fab collab is exactly how it sounds… a chic chick in her 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s shows you how to style a piece in their own way. I’m working with some of my FAVORITE gals in Dallas!!

Jeans, Jeans, Jeans! These are one of my favorite wardrobe pieces and my denim section is always multiplying! Anyhow, I digress. I didn’t find any jeans during my Dressing Room Diaries but caught these Good American skinny jeans on a second trip back to Nordstrom.
I discovered Good American jeans at the last Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and they turned out to be one of my FAVORITE pair of jeans. (I’m wearing them here, here, and all these posts here!) They have the perfect amount of stretch, suck you in, and don’t stretch out! I wear high waist jeans because there are no “accidental” butt cracks when I’m sitting or chasing around the kids.
Be sure to size down in these jeans! I’m wearing size 0/25 (and normally wear size 26). They are not a true skinny because the leg opening is larger – notice on the profile picture above. They have a raw hem, and I cut them shorter (after these pictures were shot) using a method that I learned from the sweetest blogger, Kailey of A Double Shot of Sass. I met her at the CD World Tour earlier this week. She and her twin sister share all things beauty and hair!
Cut your jeans to the desired length. Wet the hems and then throw them in the dryer for 15 minutes. I’m going to be sharing a quick tutorial soon! It’s easier than this method that I’ve been using previously.
My tee, jacket, and heels are also part of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. The V-neck tee is $12 and I got it in black and white. I always stock up on basic tees. We are all wearing this tee in either black or white!
Can I gush about that tweed jacket for a sec? All the gals said, “That jacket is so YOU, Sam!” and I knew it was a great purchase! First, I’m a sucker for anything tweed – probably stems from my love of Chanel. Thanks, Coco! Second, it has the prettiest pink woven throughout, and you KNOW I’m obsessed with pink. Third, the fringe trim is so fab. It’s less than $100 and is such a great tweed jacket if you don’t already own one.
Last, those white heels just have my heart because of the cone heel. They are perfect for Summer and will work with my Winter White outfits too. Every since nabbing a pair of Isabel Marant x H&M boots in 2013, I’ve been obsessed with cone heels. Saint Laurent brought it back last season, but these are so phenomenally priced at $109.90 for a good leather pump. I normally wear size 8 in Marc Fisher shoes but went up 1/2 size since they are a pointy pump for comfort.
And now for the gals…
Cathy is so elegantly classic with that Veronica Beard blazer/dickie combo and Gucci loafer. She is making me reconsider getting the VB blazer, darn it! Of course, Heather and I are wearing the same jeans and heels! LOL! And I ALMOST wore a moto jacket instead of the tweed jacket! We have such similar taste! Natalie is always so cozy chic and has that Topshop cardigan in the prettiest pink. That would be in my closet if it wasn’t sold out in my size!
Happy Friday Friends! I’m getting stuff ready for Little M’s FIFTH birthday party tomorrow! Where does the time go???? Plus, we are heading to Washington DC for a family vacation next week so I’m trying to gather things now for packing. If you have any Washinton DC recommendations, then please share. Also, sorry for the lack of blog posts this week. It started off a little crazy because I was delayed on my flight home from NY on Monday, and then Little M got sick on Wednesday!

Thank you Mica! That’s a FABULOUS way to start the weekend! Sounds so fun!
I forgot to respond on the last NSale post, but I was thinking about you before July and your #NoBuyJuly challenge. I knew this NSale was coming up and I would automatically fail. Do you know of any no shopping challenges for August?
I don’t know of any, I know Beth (almostposh.com) came up with #noSpenderSeptember, ha! But I’m not aware of any August ones. You could start your own, it’s just not an easy month to rhyme with, haha!
