Yesterday, I was SO LUCKY to preview the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale pieces. So here we are with another Dressing Room Diaries for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017!! Although I missed the Blogger preview party at my fave Nordstrom Northpark, I was so happy to visit the Downtown Seattle Nordstrom!! (This is the original location of Nordstrom Y’all!)
If you have a Nordstrom Card, then TODAY is the start of early access shopping. Last year, I reopened my account because there were SO MANY amazing things that I couldn’t pass up. Plus, some items sell out before the public sale starts on July 21.
That being said, you should open a card to get some of these stellar pieces before they sell out! If you don’t want to open a Nordstrom Card, then no worries. Just peruse the Nordstrom Catalog (or check out my dressing room diaries) so that you’re ready to pounce on those items on July 21st.
I tend to stock up on great basics that will get me through the year. Last year, I got the uneven hem FRAME jeans and Current Elliot Zoho zip jeans (because it’s hard for me to justify full price on jeans even though they are part of my daily uniform), this BLANKNYC moto jacket (that I got so many compliments on, everyone thinks is real leather, and wore everywhere), and a camel vest and denim poncho to name a few.
Here we go with the dressing room diaries:
I’m starting with these moto jackets because I wore my mine SO MUCH last year! I know it’s still SO HOT in Texas, but these are worth getting now and will be in heavy rotation during Fall. Since I already have the black one, I went for the metallic moto jacket ($85.90 in size XS). This reminds me of the designer ones that I’ve been eyeing like IRO and Saint Laurent for a fraction of the cost! I also missed out on the suede last year but got the grey suede moto jacket this year ($125.90 in XS). The main difference is that this one doesn’t have the waist belt.
Of course, I couldn’t pass up these Nordstrom exclusive FRAME front slit jeans ($179.90 in size 25 – they’re stretchy). BTW, the lace cami that I’m wearing under all the jackets and cardigan is $22.90 and goes with everything (wearing XS).
I LOVE this lace cami ($22.90) and cocoon cardigan ($49.90 in XS) combo! It’s so casual but chic at the same time. I’m wearing them with the FRAME cropped flares ($154.90 in size 25). I’ve been dying to try on the TOPSHOP high rise jeans ($45.90 in size 28 – size up y’all), and they looked fabulous with this black choker neck bodysuit ($38.90 in size small). They are true high rise jeans and hit at my natural waist! I didn’t get that outfit but now am regretting it and will possibly venture back to Nordstrom with the littles tomorrow!
This balloon sleeve blouse ($29.90 in size small) had my name written all over it! It is the perfect statement tee. The bodice is a soft jersey and the sleeves are a poplin material that give it the structure. It’s perfect with these side slit jeans ($51.90 in size 4 but could have gotten a size 2 on the waist) and would be great for work with a pencil skirt or slacks! It would be so great under a sleeveless dress to show off the statement sleeves.
BTW, I had to show you the sides on these jeans! They are so fun! (Please ignore my unbuckled sandles! I was on borrowed time bc Mr. S was watching the littles for me!)
Can you tell that statement sleeves are my fave?! This blouson sleeve sweater ($45.90 on size XS) is such a pretty pink. It will be so chic with skinny jeans and OTK boots or a pretty skirt! And I had to try on this fun “Pardon My French” graphic tee ($25.90 in size M) and silk scarf ($45.90 ) – very French and so fun!
The shoulders are still big for the season, so this striped one shoulder top was so eye-catching ($39.90 in size 4). I don’t know if you can see the little tie details at the sleeve – so fun. And here we are again with the statement sleeves top ($58.90 in size XS, comes in white or blue).
You may not know this, but my “off duty” look includes a lot of tees, sweatshirts, and jeans. I was gaga over this great grey pullover ($44.90 in size S). It can be worn off one shoulder or just like a regular top – love the bat wing sleeves on it. This hunter plaid button up shirt ($99.90 in size XS) is so soft and hangs really well. It would be really cute with the sleeves rolled higher with denim shorts for summer too! Now, I know why everyone talks about RAILS shirts!
I saw this tie hem sweater ($ in size XS) in the catalog and had to try it on. It’s cute but not really my style. I also wanted to see how this plaid flannel off the shoulder top would look ($58.90 in size S – too big with the elastic going across, would size down). It’s so soft and comes in a blue and white option too.
Both of these are fun variations on the sweatshirt! The pink lace up sweatshirt ($79.90 in size S) is truly a sweatshirt material! It’s really sweet with the pink color. The grey cold shoulder bow tie top ($45.90 in size XS) is more of a tee material. BTW, you can see that it’s pulling on one of the sleeves. I was in a hurry and didn’t have time to retie the bow, but it can be adjusted.
I only tried on a few separates since I don’t wear them as often (working part time). This bow blouse was really fun ($49.90 in size XS) but I had some trouble figuring out the collar portion on the top. (Also, I was rushing because by this time Mr. S and the kids were in the store waiting for me so I was pretty flustered!)
I picked up the vegan leather midi skirt ($79.90 in size XS) to show y’all (since we’ve worn it for a Chic at Every Age here). It’s super cute and very flattering. This pink ruffle jacket ($89.90 in size XS, also comes in grey) was so pretty in the catalog that I had to try it on. It would probably pair much better with a pair of skinny slacks or pencil skirt.
I tried on a few dresses just for fun! This polka dot dress ($84.90 in size 4) was so adorable on the hanger. It’s really very cute, but the cutout top and two front slips make it less age appropriate for me. It would be so fab on someone younger! And I had to try on this beautiful one shoulder DVF wrap dress ($265.90 in size 4). The pictures don’t do it justice but it’s a beautiful dress.
Last but not least are these very fun oversized reflective sunglasses ($35.90)! These did go home with me much to Mr. S’s dismay. He calls me One hundred eyes (if you’ve ever seen the Netflix show Marco Polo) because he says that I need one hundred pairs of eyes to wear all of the sunglasses that I own! LOL!
Hope you enjoyed my dressing room diaries! I’ll be sharing my favorites from each category next week! There are so many fantastic things ESPECIALLY beauty buys! You can also shop my favorites under the menu, Nordstrom Anniversary Picks!
Happy Thursday Y’all. We’re still in Seattle, and the weather has been gorgeous. I’m not going to lie… it’s been a little rough with two little ones in a hotel room trying to cope with the time difference. We’re really not seeing Mr. S much, and I kind of wish we were just back at home. #theresnoplacelikehome Hope y’all are having a fabulous week!

I love both of those moto jackets! I saw the suede one so much from last year’s sale so that grey one would be a must-buy for me if I wasn’t on my no buy july! I have enough leather jackets really…but that one just looks so cool!
I’m glad hubby was able to look after the kids you could try things on in peace – trying things on in a fitting room doesn’t really happen when you have two little ones to distract you! Part of the reason why my no shop has been so successful, I literally cannot shop in clothes stores when I’m with them, ha!
Glad you had fun shopping the sale – looking forward to seeing how you wear everything you bought as it pops up on the blog :)
