Did you know that I used to wear all black outfits all the time? It was easy and everything matched. Basically, it was a no-brainer outfit and looked chic. I was in black so often that my BIL’s called me the “Black Widow” (after Jeanette Lee – the pool player). I didn’t really care for the name so I started incorporating more color into my wardrobe. Anyhow, I still love a good dose of all black and wanted to share three easy tips for a chic all black holiday outfit!
STYLE Rx:
When in doubt, go for all black! It’s easy, slimming, and chic!

NO FADED BLACK
The color black has a lot of different undertones like blue, grey, and even taupe. It’s just like the 52 shades of white! It’s usually not noticeable if you wear different shades of black together. However, a FADED black wardrobe piece is noticeable. If you are going for a dressier look, then make sure your black is truly black and not faded! If it’s more on the casual side, then go for it!
VARY TEXTURES
Wearing all black is easy peasy! Pairing varying textures (like silk, tweed, fur, jersey, wool, etc.) will add more interest to your outfit. For example, I am wearing a velvet blazer and velvet top and faux leather leggings.
My velvet blazer is a 15+ year Old Navy blazer that I purchased when I first moved to Austin for pharmacy school. It goes to show that fashion always cycles and something doesn’t have to be designer to last long. It just needs to be well made!
Faux leather leggings are a fun and versatile piece. I’ve worn them dressed up like in the above photos and more casually with a sweatshirt and sneakers! This particular pair is a last season find from Free People.
ADD A POP OF COLOR FOR FUN
All black is super chic. Adding a pop of color makes it a bit more whimsical and fun! Why not wear sparkly and glittery heels for the holidays? That’s what I did for this outfit which spotlights the shoes! Your pop of color could be red lips or some statement earrings!
By the way, that last picture was just having fun! Angie and I like to get creative during our photo shoots. Somehow, I came up with idea about my bag being the umbrella in Mary Poppins! LOL!
ARE YOU AN ALL BLACK OUTFIT KIND OF GAL? OR IS COLOR YOUR THING?

Happy Wednesday and HUMP DAY Y’all! It’s T-8 days until Christmas! AHHH! Actually, I decided to keep it simple this year so I’m basically done after today! Hopefully, I haven’t forgotten anything major! Christmas cards have been ordered and on the way. By the time they are sent out, it will likely be New Years! LOL! Oh well!
We are traveling this holiday to see my family. Logistically, I have to get the wrapped toys in the car without the kids seeing it so Santa can do his drop off on Christmas Eve! I think I am going to put it in luggage to hide it!

Great look love the blazer those shoes are so gorgeous like the pink glitter there look like there feel great love you style Samantha you are fabulous.
I love how you added a touch of colour to this Sam, the pink shoes match the lining of your blazer so well! :) I’ve been trying to be more colourful lately as well – I struggle a bit with completely monochrome outfits as I always want to add a hint of colour – I think you do that perfectly here! My kind of monochrome outfit! :)
Hope that you’re having a good week :) We went to the Christmas event at a Theme park last night, so much fun! :)
