This past Saturday was gloomy and rainy, but I was staying dry and happy as a little lark in my new rain boots.  They are stylish AND functional!  Let’s face it.  Rain boots are usually one or the other, but not BOTH!

These boots are classic, beautiful, and made in Italy.  The leather upper gives it a “finishing touch”.  When they arrived, I immediately thought EQUESTRIAN so I pulled out my plaid blazer and skinny jeans.  They would also be fab with a cape or blanket scarf too!

These fabulous boots were gifted to me from Walin & Wolff.  FYI…  Walin & Wolff is a specialty boutique based in CT and NY founded by Christina Johnson-Wolff {former CEO of Saks Fifth Avenue} and Kim Walin {previous Wall Street analyst covering retail companies}.  Talk about heavy hitters!  They carry designer bags, shoes, accessories, and handbags in brands like Valentino, Chloe, Phillip Lim, and Annabel Ingall to name a few.  I love discovering new boutiques especially when they carry those kind of goodies! ;)  By the way, they have the burgundy version of my foldover See by Chloe boots on sale right now!

So tell me… how do you stay dry and look stylish in the rain?

Last Sunday, I had the BEST time at Beehive Fort Worth doing a photo shoot for our fab faux fur + $100 GC giveaway.  {See details at the the bottom of the post!}  We started the day with mimosas, coffee, and donuts.  Obviously, the Beehive gals know the way to my heart… food.  Then, we played dress up in an AMAZING CLOSET, the boutique.  Normally, I pride myself in finding a “special piece” in a sec and then style it in no time.  I had SO MUCH TROUBLE because I wanted to wear EVERYTHING.  Does it look good to wear 3 tops, 2 skirts, and a jumpsuit at the same time?!  Anyhow, I decided to go with this cute asymmetrical faux leather skirt.  Again, impossible to decide what to wear with it – had about 10 billion somehow gold tops – but went this darling boxy sweater.  Finished the look by piling on the accessories – bought some of the accessories!  We ended the day with a lot of laughs, fab photos, and shopping bags of goodies.

If you live in Fort Worth, this is a MUST VISIT boutique.  If you don’t live here, then drive!  Just kidding.  You can visit them online HERE.  They have the cutest things for the holidays or any days.  Trust me.

We all gravitated towards the faux fur jackets, which is why we thought it would be a great giveaway.  BTW, I bought the jacket.

Dem Lips

These pics were taken in October when it was still warm!  #CrazyTexasWeather  I bought this tee for a Motley Crue concert in July.  I know.  I know.  It doesn’t make sense to wear a Rolling Stones tee to that concert.  {My excuse is I’m a mom and not cool anymore!}  Any how, it’s a men t-shirt and I cut the arms off to make it more “edgy”.  Again, defaulting to the mom and not cool thing again.

It was the PERFECT thing to wear with this jersey skirt from French Connection and some RED LIPS!  I love the side zippers on the skirt.  And this is the BEST RED lipstick I’ve found since the Lanvin x H&M Collection lipsticks in 2010!  It’s a true red.

The Style Rx:  Give a cut off tee some finesse with a lady-like pencil skirt.  It’s sure to get some glances!  Hopefully, the good kind.

Have you ever sported a cut off tee?!  Share your secrets!!
