Thank you to everyone for your sweet comments on my feelings of being overwhelmed lately.  I was really tired and felt emotional when I was writing that post.  I decided to be a little more personal on the blog as one of my “blogger resolutions”.  Not sure why I picked that topic to start… I cut and paste that part multiple times before deciding to leave it and hit publish.  Anyhow, I appreciate your support and honesty.  We are all so busy in life, so I really appreciate YOU taking the time to come over here to my little space and reading!

Anyhow, I should be packing for my brother-in-law’s wedding, but I’m writing this post.  Maybe that’s why I don’t get everything done… lacking prioritizing/ time management skills.  I digress.

This crazy Texas weather is killing me!  Am I ready for Spring or still bundled up in layers?  At least I have the opportunity to wear Spring, Summer, and Winter pieces in my closet.

While it was beautiful and in the 70s, I was sporting some lace and denim.  Love the juxtaposition of feminine with the casualness of ripped denim.  BTW, these boyfriend jeans are now retired (unless I’m wearing a long jacket/duster like this) because the back seam has kind of split.  There wasn’t anything wrong with the fabrication of the jeans – I just wore them THAT MUCH!  I need to find any pair of boyfriend jeans STAT.  True Story.  I bought a pair of boyfriend jeans on sale at Anthropologie.  They are not as slim as these, maybe a little more relaxed you could say.  Mr. S said they look like “mom jeans”!  If anyone has a recommendations for “better” boyfriend jeans, please shout it out in the comments!

The Style Rx:  Be casual cool when you mix lace and denim.  White/Cream lace pairs perfectly with cognac/tobacco brown.  Black lace goes with… well anything!  I’m wearing a lace top and denim jeans, but you can totally reverse it.  A chambray shirt and lace skirt would be super cute!

We’re headed to Florida for the BIL’s wedding, and Mr. S and I are both in the wedding party!  What are y’all up to this weekend?  BTW, I haven’t forgotten to post about the ARTIS makeup brushes.  I had to refilm the video and I’m currently trying to edit, which takes me foreva!!

It’s that time again… CHIC AT EVERY AGE.  This month, we bring you TEA TIME!!

For those of you that have just tuned in, this fab collab is exactly how it sounds… a chic chick in her 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s shows you how to style a piece in their own way. I’m working with some of my FAVORITE gals in Dallas!!

The 20-something // Ashley of SideSmile Style

The 30-something // ME!

The 40-something // Heather of Style by Fluent

The 50-something // Cathy of The Middle Page

In case you couldn’t tell, I LOVE LOVE LOVE drama when it comes to fashion and clothing {not in my life}!  So when Heather told us we were going to Tea at Taschen, I knew EXACTLY what I was going to wear!  How could I pass up a chance to wear a hat and this gorgeous vintage dress from Gma?!  It was the perfect occassion.

Don’t you love how we all dressed so differently for tea?  Ashley is always so calm, cool, and collected and her casual approach to tea time was fabulous.  Heather was trendy and classic at the same time.  You’ll have to hop on over to her blog to see that back of that blazer!  Last but not least, Cathy looked ladylike in that beautiful crane print blouse and fit and flare skirt.  This shoot reminds me of ‘Sex in the City’ because our styles are so diverse!  Who are you… an Ashley, Sam, Heather, or Cathy?

The Style Rx:  Time for Tea?!  It’s modern times, and your dress can be such.  Wear anything from jeans and heels to a traditional dress.  Add a hat if you dare!

I know this is about fashion, but I had to add some pictures of the Taschen library and delicious food captured by iPhone!  Each level was absolutely divine, and the tea parings went perfectly.  BTW, that’s apple cider in the champagne glass – they were so accommodating!

Happy Friday Gorgeous friends!!!  I know some of y’all are in New York for Fashion Week and some are ramping up for Valentine’s Day! I hope EVERYONE is having an amazing day.  Okay, today I’m getting really honest on my feelings.  Just know that you were warned!

Last night I couldn’t sleep because I was thinking about life… and the blog… and everything else.  Do you guys ever wonder why you were put on this Earth?  What is God’s plan is for you?  I want to admit something.  Every month, I feel overwhelmed and I want to quit the blog.  I mean, what’s the point?  Am I helping anyone?  Does anyone really gain anything from this?  Is this part of God’s plan?  Blogging takes up a lot of time – there’s the photo shoot, the editing, the writing, the linking, the promoting.  I am always trying to hustle in the morning before Little M wakes up, during his nap times, or after he sleeps {which takes away time from Mr. S} to get the blog and other stuff done.  It would be so much easier if there was one thing off of my To-Do list.

And to answer some of my own questions… I did donate proceeds from the blog last year and plan on doing the same this year.  That’s “helping” right?  Maybe my friends who don’t live in Fort Worth get to “see me” sort of!!  That’s positive I think.  We plan on starting the adoption process again in the Spring, and that’s ANOTHER baby when I’m just now getting the hang of it.  Kind of.  Anyhow, I’ve given myself a timeline and will see where all of this goes…  Thanks for letting me vent!

Okay, back to happiness and fashioness!  I know that not a word, but gotta rhyme!  I was really excited that Marsala was the Pantone color of 2015 because I just happened to have a matching vintage bag and newly found heels to wear.  Success!

The Style Rx: Marsala yourself this year!  It’s easy to do.  Wear it head-to-toe for a editorial chic look or accent yourself with marsala accessories {as I’ve done}.  It’s goes beautifully with many colors like camel, silver, black, white, grey, you name it!  If it’s a little too much for you, try a marsala colored lip!  You don’t have to commit!

Do you have an Marsala pieces in your wardrobe?  How do you wear it?  … And what are your thoughts about keeping up with life or your own blog?  Love you guys!  Again, thanks for letting me get that off my chest!
