Hello Friends! Can you tell I’m ready for Spring? Following the last Chic at Every Age post, this is ANOTHER way to wear brights for Spring! (I was inspired by my Neiman Marcus Spring Preview for this post!) This sunny hue can only bring sunshine, right? It’s a cousin to Marigold (seen here and here) which was a huge trend this past Fall. Think Uma Thurman’s tracksuit from Kill Bill, Bruce Lee’s jumpsuit from Game of Death, or canary yellow from the crayon box!

If you are just tip-toeing into the bright color trend, then this is an easy way to try it because jackets and blazers can be taken off! ;) The trick is to pair it with neutrals so your one bright piece stands out. I wore a beige/gold choker top, blue jeans, and nude pumps. My bag is also taupe/blush. If I took the blazer off, it would be a neutral outfit.
BTW, notice how I pushed up the arms of the blazer to show off the sleeves of the top. That’s a fun little tip to try if you have any detail on your sleeves.
THE STYLE Rx: Try the bright (yellow) trend with a jacket or blazer. It’s a low commitment. Easy on. Easy off. Trust me and keep it on! :)
Now… if you are ALL IN for the bright trend, then GO BIG! A bright yellow blazer would be so gorgeous with this rainbow dress, rainbow top, or rainbow maxi skirt. Yellow’s complementary color is purple which also happens to be the Pantone Color of the Year. Wear the two colors together for a statement-making look!
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We went to an adoption openness discussion at our adoption agency. They always host great educational sessions, and I’m grateful to learn about these things. I’m working a lot this week and keep crossing my fingers that the littles don’t get sick at school! What are you up to this week?

Thank you so much Mayana! xx, S
Oh this is such a fun blazer! I love it with your jeans :) I’m all about yellow at the moment, I’m loving mustard especially but all shades of yellow make me happy! :)
Hope you had a nice weekend! The agency talk sounds interesting! We spent some time with visiting family, it was wonderful :)

Thank you Mica! I’m trying to warm up to mustard! LOL! I know it’s such a good color and you look great in it!
Glad you got to spend time with your family! That’s ALWAYS good! <3
Love this look! And that’s the perfect backdrop for it too!
Sadly I can never bring myself to wear yellow, it just looks so weird on me! I do have a super light yellow jacket but I never wear it because its a little big. refuse to get rid of it because it’s Valentino and cost me $2 in The Outnet’s second birthday sale, haha!

Oh my gosh Meg! Actually, I totally know what you mean! I don’t particularly care for yellow either but I got this vintage Escada blazer for less than $30 so I never got rid of it! And I think I remember when you got that Valentino jacket! LOL! Maybe, you can try to wear it with a belt since that’s so trendy and may help it look smaller!
