Bejeweled

There are a couple of brands that have me completely hypnotized with their marketing.  Number one, Anthropologie.  As I mentioned before, I keep all there catalogues for inspiration.  Number two, JCrew.  Sometimes I love their looks, and sometimes I don’t.  But their models always make everything look so cool like, “Oh yeah, I can totally wear socks with sandals and shorts to work in the dead cold as long as I wear at least three layers on top AND it’s fashionable”!  Anyways, I digress… All of this is to say that I was inspired by the JCrew catalog for this outfit.  For seasons, they have been wearing a button up shirt completely buttoned with a jeweled necklace.  {I’m usually a two buttons from the top unbuttoned kind of gal, but I thought I would give it go!}

shirt :: Zac Posen for Target
skirt :: Anthropologie
necklace :: gifted from mom for my bday!
rings :: F21 and etsy
pearl clutch :: gifted from neighbor when I was younger
shoes :: Chie Mihara
For a Target shirt, I love all the details!  It has pleating on the arms and lapel and a shrunken collar.  I thought it was perfect to show off a necklace!

The vintage clutch is covered with a mother-of-pearl tile on one side.  It is big enough to hold some kleenex (although the holder looks like it was made for cigarettes) and lip gloss.  There is a small compartment to house face powder, and it has a built in mirror and little removable comb.  The neighbor who gave it to me had three boys.  It was so sweet of her to give this lovely clutch to me.  She kept her door unlocked and I would always just walk in to see what she was up to!  She was the one who taught me how to iron shirts and make spaghetti sauce!

Have you tried a button up with jewels?  Are there any brands that inspire you?
