Happy Wednesday Friends! It’s time for another From Grandma with Love. In case this is your first visit to this series, I’m lucky to be the recipient of my Grandmother-in-law’s beautiful wardrobe. She owned so many unique pieces, and I’ve had the MOST FABULOUS time styling it on the blog. It’s a win-win for me because I ADORE vintage and a fun excuse to wear it!
When I laid eyes on this bishop sleeve top, aka pirate shirt, it was DRAMATIC love at first sight. How can you not LOVE the collar and sleeves?!?! Luckily for me, Grandma also had it in white… which you will likely see on the blog! I’m thinking about pairing those with high waisted pants.
Since the shirt has SO MUCH VOLUME, I kept the bottom simple with a tweed pencil skirt. And you can’t go wrong with pearls. After all, pearls make the girl! They were a great complement to the long collar.
The Style Rx: When wearing a voluminous top, balance it out with a simple silhouette on bottom like a slim skirt or pant. If you want full on drama, then throw caution to the wind and wear an equally voluminous bottom – I’m thinking something along the lines of Rosie Assoulin. P.S. If you love dramatic lines, and happen to have a money tree, then she is your gal. I LOVE her looks!
Hope you enjoyed this week’s look! Until next week…
