I wore this outfit for a night out to meet the Negative Underwear gals earlier this month. Β {Side note: The founders Lauren and Marissa are so nice, their bras are super comfy, and they have the best Instagram account!} Β See, another backpack outfit. Β Most of my backpack outfits aren’t this dressy. Β They are very mommy-ish, which is my uniform of a sweatshirt variant, skinny or boyfriend jeans, and boots. Β Since I was baby free this night, I wanted to get glammed up!
The PIECE that I styled everything around was this cracked Balenciaga skirt found at Last Call. Β Where else right? Β First, I found the cracked turtleneck top which was an absolute b*tch to put on, and I almost got stuck taking it off. Β BTW, that HAS happened to me when I tried on a too-small Valentino dress and I had to get an associate to come into the dressing room to help me get it off! Β #mostembarassing Β Anyhow, after avoiding another near catastrophe, I thought… it would be great if this came in a skirt. Β And then my awesome sales associate told me that she had one!!! Β And basically, you know what happened next!
Since the skirt is so CRACKED, I paired it with a smooth leather crop top and black heels -very basic but simple enough to make a statement. Β And why not throw an oversized coat over the shoulders?!
The Style Rx: Β Black and white always looks great with a pop of color. Β Opt for a bright basic color like red, yellow, or blue to make a strong statement or try a pretty pastel for a softer look.
Okay, totally random… but can you guess which of the designerΒ pieces that I’m wearing cost $40? Β You wouldn’t believe it, but it’s the blue DIOR coat that I found on eBay last year. Β I guess no one was looking for a cobalt blue 80s/90s-with-major-shoulder-pads wool coat! Β That was a seriously lucky find!

I hate that moment of panic in the dressing room when you can’t get out of something you’ve just tried on like you had with the top….so scary! Always such a relief when you wiggle out of it eventually though, phew haha!
