Date night…  such a foreign phrase nowadays.  We are hoping to change that!  This is what I wore for our first date night 2 months after our sweet boy arrived.  My mom was in town and we literally went down the street – maybe 2 miles.  That’s as far as I felt comfortable going.  We ended date night at Target on a formula run.  I know – how romantic!

This is basically another variation of my uniform as of late.  Yes, it’s the good old tee + skinny jeans + jacket combo.  HOWEVER, this jacket is no ordinary jacket.  It is one of my “holy grail” jacket.  It was part of the Isabel Marant SS 2010 collection, and I’ve been stalking it on ebay since then.  I refused to pay 2-3x the retail value for a 3 year old jacket even if it is AMAZING.  My ebay saved search finally paid off, and I found a “Buy It Now” for a reasonable price in Japan!  Anyhow, this jacket is part of a new “thing” I’m trying called The Five Piece French Wardrobe – a separate post to come soon!

Style Rx:  An embellished jacket can take jeans and a tee from drab to FAB!  Even a bomber jacket – think brocade, studded, leather trim – will take your outfit to the next level.  Use caution as certain adorned blazers {a la Isabel Marant} may cause your bank account to be lower than usual.  Be sure to check your account prior to purchase!
