Happy Monday Lovelies! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed an extra hour of sleep. I’m in the process of changing my blog design again so please bare with me during the construction!
I must show you second item that I purchased from The Vintagemobile a couple of weekends ago! It’s this beautiful camel colored coat! {For those of you that follow me on facebook or twitter, you know that I went back to The Vintagemobile on Saturday…and found a sequin shirt! That place is dangerous for my wallet!}
coat :: Fleurette for Neiman Marcus (thrifted from the Vintagemobile)
sweater :: Guess (gifted from cousin)
dress :: Espirit (gifted from friend)
boots :: Charlie Horse (gifted from Mr. S) earrings :: gifted from mom for bday cuff :: MaiTai turquoise bracelet :: Keena’s
bag :: Coach
To winterize this dress, I threw a sweater over it and added cowboy boots. The textural difference between the sweater and dress make it an interesting combination and perfect for the cold! Nothing says Texas like throwing on a pair of cowboy boots! And the 3/4 length sleeves on the sweater were begging me to add a mini arm party.
This is the dress! Add the sweater and voila! You got a winter outfit!
That camel coat is absolutely magnificent S! I love the color and am sure you will get plenty of use out of it. The color of that dress is to die-for! So vibrant – I love it. I have not tried a sweater over a dress yet but have thought about it since I recently got a really nice Missoni flower pattern slip dress that I don’t want to wait until summer to bring out. I may have to do a copy-cat soon ;) Thanks for the inspiration my dear.
I’ve never tried a sweater over a dress! Great idea! Sam, I love a camel coat and I think it’s awesome with that cable knit sweater and that pop of pink dress. Very nice play in colors and textures. You’re finding some amazing clothes on that bus. They have great stuff. Hope you’re having a great Monday! :D http://sassyuptownchic.blogspot.com/
Ohh are you doing the change in design yourself? Loving your new header.
The outfit – love the cozy sweater, the camel jacket and the sweater of the dress is perfect. Color of the dress is gorgeous. You look perfect for fall.
@Sam- Thank you for stopping by my blog! And great name! *wink*
@Jen RedSolesandRedWine – I do my blog design myself, and I reworked my header! Thank you Jen!
@SassyUptownChic – Thanks Kim! I’m trying to go for a sweet and “muted” looked for the blog!
@gracefully50.com- Jeannie! I’m a horrible writer! I try my best so thanks for the compliment! I try to pretend I’m writing for a catalogue when I’m describing my outfits! :)
Combinations of these colors are unique and pretty. My favorite must be that deep rich pink dress that you turned to a skirt, how creative! The camel coat will be so versatile.

Great coat, you will have that for many years to come. You look great as always! Your boots rock :)
That is an amazing coat! Love your boots as well.
And nope, I’ve never worn a sweater over a dress… I’m more of a cardigan girl anyway :)
Love the bright pop of pink!
Firstly, love your blog header. Great outfit, so innovative wearing a knit jersey over a silky drew, nice contrast
