For those of you that just tuned in, From Grandma with Love is a twice-monthly series that is one of my faves! I’m lucky to be the recipient of my Grandmother-in-law’s beautiful wardrobe. She owned so many unique pieces, and I’ve had the MOST FABULOUS time styling it on the blog. It’s a win-win for me because I ADORE vintage and a fun excuse to wear it!

Is this a fun floral tunic or what?! This is a perfect look for a weekend pool party! It transports me back to the Slim Aarons days, and I envision ‘Poolside Glamour’.

It’s a perfect brightly color top for summer! Of course, this would go well with jeans or white pants, but I thought it would be fun to wear it with white shorts (which is unusual for me – see below)! It would also be SO bright with a pair of coordinating red skinny jeans or maxi skirt!

THE STYLE Rx: Add some color to your Summer with a brightly colored tunic! If it’s short, then wear it with jeans or shorts. If it’s long, then try it as a dress or swim coverup!

By the way, white bottoms are a staple for Summer and Summer-ize any outfit! I have white shorts, culottes, pants, and a maxi skirt! It’s an easy solution to almost ANY top! Try it and let me know how it works for you!

We took these photos at The Foundry District in Fort Worth! I love all of the different artwork and murals there! This quote, “Everyone’s Journey Is Different” is so good and so true. You may meet someone at a certain stage in their life (whether good or bad) but you don’t know what it took to get there unless they share it with you. It reminds me of the quote, “Always put yourself in the other’s shoes. If it hurts you, it probably hurts the other too.” We all need to have a little more patience and love with one another.

Sidenote: You rarely see me in shorts because I have a sunblock allergy – only to chemical sunscreen, not mineral sunscreen. I get a rash just from sitting in chairs during the Summer because most people slather it on and it leaves a residue. That’s NO fun! Hence, I am normally in longer bottoms during the Summer like culottes, dresses, jeans, and city shorts!

We have some friends visiting from Houston, and the kids are going to have a playdate. It’s been a really interesting week with a holiday breaking everything up on Wednesday.
