No worries!! I didn’t wear flip-flops! First, I didn’t technically MEET the president. Second, he isn’t the CURRENT president.
I was honored to volunteer for a luncheon hosted by the Tarrant County College to raise funds for scholarships. George W. Bush was the honorary speaker. It was fantastic!! Since I was just a volunteer, we didn’t get to meet him. However, we did get to sit in the back of the room and watch while people enjoyed a wonderful lunch from the Omni and listen to the president speak. Really, I was honored to be there. That was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Apparently, he has written a book which will be released on November 9th. DH and I are going do a search for book signings by the former prez since he lives just a hop, skip, and jump away in Dallas!!
