7 Outfits, 7 Days + Black Friday Giveaway!

This post contains affiliate links which means I receive a commission if you make a purchase using the links in this post.

It’s officially cold (most days in Texas)! After my self imposed shopping ban was lifted, I went a little crazy. Looking back at the crazed shopping, I realized it was MAJOR retail therapy because of some stressors going on in life.

However, my retail OOPSIE is the perfect way to highlight some of my favorite brands and give y’all some winter outfit ideas! I mix new stuff with older pieces in my closet. It was inspired by one of my favorites emails from Intermix. They do clothing collages, but this ol’ gal is just showing y’all my OOTD! Here are 7 outfits that I wore on 7 different days!

(SUSTAINABLE) STYLE Rx:

Instead of shopping (like I did), look through magazines and your favorite store catalogs for outfit inspiration and then SHOP YOUR CLOSET!

URBAN COWBOY

This is a variation of my winter uniform – turtleneck sweater, jeans, boots, and jacket. I wore this without the hat to meet the gals for a Chic at Every Age shoot in Dallas. It was cold and rainy so I wanted to be comfy. Thoughts on the hat? I bought it NWT from Beacon’s Closet for $35. I discovered it’s called The Mack hat by Lack of Color which is their classic fedora style! Wearing it, the silhouette reminds me of “The Man with the Yellow Hat” from Curious George! LOL!

BTW, I shared on Instagram Stories when I got these boots! They were a splurge but reminded me of a pair of camel boots that I had along with my two besties. I wore them to death!! They were not real leather and eventually starting flaking everywhere! LOL! I felt like I was “adulting” when these pair of boots arrived.

MOD SQUAD

Here is my off duty look for a day that started off in the 50s that morning but ended up in the 70s. I was catching up on blog work, running errands, and chaffeuring Little M to his appointments. I cheated in the afternoon since I was close to home and changed into a white tee, same jeans, and clear wedges. Texas weather is so crazy!

SHADES OF BROWN

We actually made it to church, AND we were early! It was a Sunday MIRACLE! LOL! Since we always go to the Fort Worth Water Gardens after church, I wanted to wear something that was easy, comfy, and included my new CABI skirt! Voila! I wore differents shades of neutral for an easy look!

YOU CAN BE MY WINGMAN

Does anyone else have trouble with travel outfits? It’s a balance between looking chic and being comfy. Instead of my usual travel uniform (jeans, tee, blazer, and sneakers),  I changed it up with an inadvertent matched set. I was traveling to LA for blog work and decided on green joggers and a matching jacket. It worked well because my Uber dropped me off at a crazy location in downtown LA and I had to traverse some steps with my suitcase to get to the hotel!

BTW, this is a one of my favorite jackets. It’s a Polo Ralph Lauren cotton field jacket, and my name “Sam” is embroidered above the pocket. I got it during a trip to LA with the gals when we attended a Rachel Zoe event, so it has a lot of sentimental value too! However, the same Uber driver asked me if I was in the army which I guess is a far question! LOL!

BLACKOUT

When I can’t decide what to wear, then I wear head-to-toe of the same color. It will INSTANTLY elevate your outfit whether it’s black, white, or neon pink! I wore this to a birthday dinner with my girlfriends.  The “new piece” is the pair of Chanel earrings that I splurged on for my birthday. They are definitely statement earrings! Everything else has been in my closet, some for a decade!

WEEKEND WARRRIOR

This was a Saturday outfit where it started off cold and ended up in the 70s AGAIN! I started off with boots but changed into wedges by the time we went to lunch at Central Market.

Even when I’m not running late, I LOOOOVVVEEE a good matched set. Tribe Alive has the most fabulous basics and I stock up whenever I can and especially if they have a promotion going on!

The top is oversized and linen, and I ADORE it so much that I also got it in white. The pants are part of their EVERYDAY collection, and I now know why! They are literally SO COMFORTABLE that you’d want to wear it every day! Again, I liked it so much that I also got the white version!

BTW, I literally purchased so many items at their friends and family event, and these pieces will take me through many seasons. I love the window pane collection which is a blush pink with gold metallic threading woven throughout and got the matched set, split neck top and cropped pants. What a surprise, right?! Currently the tiered maxi dress in Terra is an extra 25% off sale price too!

Tribe Alive is one of my FAVORITE local brands in Fort Worth started in love. The founder, Carly Burson, adopted her daughter in Ethiopia and saw that many mothers did not have the means to support their children. Tribe Alive was created to honor the women in developing countries facing economic insecurity. They support women artisans, slow fashion, and living wages. <3

SO FRESH AND SO CLEAN

This was another “catch up on blog work” day and Mom limousine Monday. I was running late and went for a basic jeans outfit and pulled my hair back with this fun hand barrette! I literally always reach for white, and this Noble 31 Lolo top is another new favorite. It’s oversized and such a fabulous crisp heavy cotton fabric that creates such an amazing silhouette. It is such a luxe basic and I love how versatile it is – wear it as a top or jacket, open or buttoned, oversized or buttoned on the back hem for a pleated detail. I forgot to pop the collar in the picture which is how I actually wore it!

Noble 31 another local Fort Worth brand started by three sisters and part of their proceeds benefit The Net Purchased Program! I love that their pieces are designed and inspired in Texas and produced in New York. Their name is inspired by the Old Testament passage in Proverbs.

**Her clothes are well-made and elegant, and she always faces tomorrow with a smile. — Proverbs 31:25 (MSG)**
