If you didn’t watch the TV show, Parks and Recreation, then you might think that title is crazy!! (You MUST watch the video clip here if you haven’t!! Seriously LOL stuff!!) If you were a fan, then you’re definitely laughing.
We are all busy in preparation for the holidays getting ready for guests, planning meals, possibly traveling, making a list and checking them twice. In all of the holiday craziness, it’s easy to forget about yourself. That’s why, I’m doing my own version of Treat Yo Self 2015!!
In actuality, it’s not hard to “treat myself” when I’m at Target. Diapers. Check. Groceries. Check. Home Decor items. CHECK! Cute things for myself. DOUBLE CHECK!! For this holiday season, I indulged myself with a winter white faux jacket (can’t get enough fur), the cutest leather tassel clutch plus pom pom, and Sally Hansel gel effects nail polish in Crème de la Crème. (I never have enough time for a mani or pedi so gel effects polishes are a life-saver! Don’t forget the top coat. That’s what makes it last longer.) There are so many good things to choose off the Target Wonderlist!
THE STYLE Rx: Treat yo self!! But really, don’t forget to take some time for yourself this season. We all get carried away in the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Take a moment to breathe and maybe get yourself something cute at the same time! It doesn’t hurt to look fab while being busy! ;)
Some people think fur is only for “dressing up”, but I wear it casually too (and have it in my living room, and office, and Little M’s room! LOVE fur!). Here are two different looks, glam and casual, where I’ve taken advantage of my holiday pieces.
For Day (or casual), I paired the fur jacket with an asymmetrical tee, distressed skinny jeans, and booties. That adorable navy blue pom pom was begging to be clipped on to the pouch. The ensemble was finished with a gold and rhinestone and lariat necklace. If it gets too warm, just take off the jacket. I met a girlfriend for lunch in this outfit!
For Night (or glam), nothing says WOW like pairing leather and fur. That faux leather dress is Target! Yes, you read that correctly. It feels like real leather and has short sleeves which is perfect for camouflaging any jello-arms this holiday. Just sayin’! I removed the tassel and pom pom for a more streamlined look on the clutch. To save myself some “shaving time”, I wore over-the-knee boots, but the dress would be darling with high heels or booties too! This would be perfect for date night (if we get one soon) or a holiday party.
