The end of our July Colorado trip was packed with fun filled activities. On the last day of Mr. S’s conference, a photography class was offered before the conference workshops started. It was led by the famous Colorado landscape photographer, John Fielder. I say famous because he has published a bazillion books, and although I had never heard of him (only because I’m not cultured) he is amazing! We walked around the lake near the conference center while he educated us on the ingredients of a good landscape photograph. (Unfortunately, I wrote my notes on a scrap piece of paper and have since cleaned out my purse. Wouldn’t you know, I can’t find that piece of paper!) He would take a picture, describe the elements he tried to capture, and we were supposed to emulate it. These are some of the photos I shot with his help:
This is John Fielder taking book orders and autographing the books we purchased!
After the conference, we were lucky enough to do a bike ride from Keystone to Dillon. They have amazing bike trails and absolutely gorgeous scenery! There’s me looking like a dork waving on the bike!
After leaving Keystone, we explored the areas around Denver. Mr. S has always wanted to drive Pike’s Peak (so glad he did the driving – it was steep in some places)! I’m pretty sure we were really close to heaven – it was beautiful!
A view of “Balancing Rock” at Garden of the Gods…
… And visiting the chapel at the Air Force Academy. It’s out of this world!
This wasn’t much of a fashion post, but I wanted to share some memories of our wonderful Colorado trip!
