From Grandma with Love // Orange & White Matched Set + Survey Results

For those of you that just tuned in, From Grandma with Love is a twice monthly series that is one of my faves! I’m lucky to be the recipient of my Grandmother-in-law’s beautiful wardrobe. She owned so many unique pieces, and I’ve had the MOST FABULOUS time styling it on the blog. It’s a win-win for me because I ADORE vintage and a fun excuse to wear it! This blog series will be every other Friday (alternating with our Chic at Every Age posts).

This outfit makes me look like I just stepped out of a 70s time machine. It is pretty telltale that it’s from another era because of the polyester material and major collar, but I LOVE it. LOL! That can be an issue with vintage pieces. You LOOK like you’re in a Halloween costume from whatever era, but you just gotta go with it sometimes!

Anyhow, this is a butterfly collar top (hard to see because of my hair) and matching elastic-waisted midi skirt. I tucked the top into the skirt and accentuated the waistline with a vintage leather and chain belt. Belting is a great way to camouflage an elastic waistband. I just kept going with the gold for the shoes and bag! Y’all know gold accessories are my favorite.

THE STYLE Rx: Do yourself a favor and get a matched set! The great thing about matched sets are 1) they are easy to wear because they match {duh} 2) you can separate them to make individual outfits with the top or bottom and 3) you just need to add accessories and go!

Although this outfit is very bright and loud because of the color and graphic print, there are plenty of gorgeous monochromatic sets out there too. Look at the silhouette of each piece to make sure that it will work with your body type. I love this set in black because it would be flattering on almost everyone with the peplum top and flare pants.

Are you a fan of matched sets? How do you wear them?

Happy Friday Loves! We have lots going on this weekend – a birthday party, baby shower, and pot luck dinner! It will be a fun filled friends weekend! What are you doing this weekend!

SURVEY RESULTS //

Thanks so much for all that took time out of your busy day to do the survey! Because of y’alls input, I’ll be adding some new series to the blog. The first one is #ManicMomDay which will occur on every other Monday! This will be a glimpse of my more casual and day-to-day outfit that I wear either when I’m with the kids or running errands.

I’m also contemplating doing a #SkincareSunday every month to share new organic and green skin care or beauty finds with y’all. If there are sales going on, I’ll add them at the end of the post like as a P.S.

And dun dun dun dun… the winner of the $50 Amazon gift card is Closet Fashionista (picked via random.org)! Please contact me at styleofsamantha@gmail.com to claim your prize.
