Mad for Plaid

adam lippes for target, how to wear plaid

Happy Friday Y’all!!  I have to be honest with y’all.  I would have never categorized myself as a plaid person.  During the grunge phase in the 90s (yes, I’m that old), I NEVER wore a plaid flannel shirt.  EVER.  Maybe, I thought it was “too lumberjack” for me, and I didn’t know how to glam it up.

Fast forward to today and the Adam Lippes for Target collection.  He did a buffalo plaid in the most gorgeous way.  Seriously!  Neutrals like grey and oatmeal are right up my alley.  I love the oversized cowlneck and fringe on the sweater, and the structure on the mohair coat is fab.  It’s not lined, so I would consider it a light weight coat.  BTW, I would definitely size down on this collection.  I’m wearing an XS in the coat and sweater.

The jacket would be fabulous over this painterly plaid shirt dress and plaid pumps for a graphic head-to-toe look!  I’ll be wearing that look when my dress arrives!  Of course, I’ll post on Instagram when I have a chance.

For a “not into plaid” gal, I’m LOVING this plaid on plaid combination!!  When my mom saw it, she was surprised it was Target.  Just sayin’!

The Style Rx:  Layer plaids from head to toe with tone on tone neutrals like grey and oatmeal for a chic effect.  Tie the look together with neutral accessories.

What are your thoughts?  Are you mad for plaid or do you shy away from the graphic print?  And would YOU wear TWO pieces of plaid?!!
