Happy Monday Friends! How do YOU DO New Year’s resolutions? I try to “reset myself” and come up with healthy habits to follow every year. Two regulars on my list are eating better and exercising regularly. Since Little M was born, spending QUALITY time and BEING PRESENT with him have been added to my resolutions, which brings me to my next point. Being a busy momma, I strive to look chic but still maintain a semblance of comfy, the eternal comfy-chic balance. Enter Athleisure-wear!

In case you aren’t familiar with the term…

Athleisure (ath-lee-zher) is defined as casual clothing designed to be worn both for exercising and general use.

How do YOU DO athleisure?! I’m sharing three different outfits and scenarios to wear athleisure. This is HOW I DO to get things done AND look put together!

Scenerio 1 // Lunch Date // I mention lunch date, but this outfit can be worn for grocery shopping or a casual weekend (which is exactly when I’ve worn it). The dress is basically a long sweatshirt (sweatshirt = uber comfy), and the oversized cardigan is perfect to throw over for graphic effect.  BTW, I’m wearing an XXL which was the only size left.  However, it’s extremely forgiving and anyone can wear it because of the cocoon shape.  Psst, that’s a belt worn as a necklace.  Stay tuned later this week as I share a quick video on three different ways to wear that belt!

Scenerio 2 // Running Errands with Little M // This striped tunic is absolutely the best!  It is SO cute AND comfy. It has pockets which is a MAJOR POSITIVE to throw keys, etc. into while I’m holding Little M. It was perfect with leather leggings for activities at TCU Music class with Little M.  That involves a lot of sitting on floor, standing up, and a little chasing around! Seriously, I almost want to buy another in case something happens to this one!  That’s cray-cray right?!

Scenerio 3 // Working Out // I work out at 6am three times a week with a girlfriend before Little M wakes up. (Nevermind that we’ve taken the last three weeks off!)  Sometimes when I get home, Little M is already awake. This leaves no time to shower or “get ready”.  This is when athleisure saves the day. I’m already wearing the urban leggings and can throw the tunic over my workout gear.  It’s long enough to cover important parts (I don’t like to wear leggings as pants), and I can go on about my business. For a dressier look, I could have worn the color-block cardigan.  Either way, it’s a win-win because I’ve gotten my work-out in, get to hang out with my little dude, and look stylish!
