Photography by Mr. S (and myself)
Happy Wednesday Friends! Hope everyone’s week is going well. Thanks for all of the great feedback on our living room! Our home is always a work in progress (like myself), and it’s was so fun to “finish” our living room. Translation: Mr. S and I have very different taste, and he has a hard time envisioning things unless they are in a picture. He gave me “free reign” for the living room, which was basically unheard of in our decorating relationship. He has lots of “opinions”!
I still have Napa pictures to share, and these were taken during a road trip on Pacific Highway One from Napa Valley to San Francisco. As always in beautiful California, the weather was gorgeous. After stopping at Half Moon Bay to pick up some sandwiches, we enjoyed an ocean view lunch at the state beach. That colorful mural was spotted in Half Moon Bay, and I had to stop and snap a pic!
The strong wind was causing some crazy waves, and we stopped multiples times along the coast to just enjoy nature’s beauty. It’s one of my favorite days of our trip. I snuck in a picture of Mr. S looking at the ocean. ;) The last picture was an iPhone snap of us after finally arriving in San Francisco at Crissy Field. I’m laughing because Mr. S was giving me a hard time about the hat hitting him in the head while we were trying to get a selfie!
That day, I wore a fun faux suede button front skirt picked up at Target. I totally caved on this 70’s trend and purchased it. It’s super cute and relaxed, but a bit on the short side. To keep it simple, I paired it with a black turtleneck, OTK boots (a great solution to hide my legs and the length of the skirt), and a brown hat. BTW, I have an update on The Five Piece French Wardrobe coming soon which addresses my “need for trend”.
THE STYLE Rx: A button front skirt is a 70s trend that you’ll want to adopt! They come in different lengths, even midi, and can be pulled off year round. Pair a knee-length or midi skirt with a turtleneck and ankle boots + coat for a chic winter look. When Spring arrives (very soon), you can throw on a striped tee and some mule sandals for a relaxed and fresh ensemble.
Okay, so who has a button front skirt? I remember them from middle school. Sometimes, I almost feel like I should keep EVERYTHING because styles come around full circle and repeat themselves.
