Hello GlamFam! I’m showing y’all how to tie a scarf, but this is also meant to be an ode to my late friend Faith. She was a fellow co-resident and pharmacist when we lived in Temple, TX. She loved all things equestrian, music, and wonderful. Franklin, our dog, loved her too and would “sing” when she played Rainbow Connection on the piano. Even though I didn’t get to see her often after we moved, I cherished our friendship. She was the friend who had the plaque, “The Best Things in Life aren’t THINGS” in her house. I will always remember that and her. When I last visited her, she asked me to hold all of her Hermes scarves for her until she could use them again. I started crying, and she asked me not to and that it would just be a short time. So this blog post is dedicated to my beautiful friend, Faith.

THE STYLE Rx: The Parisians are so chic and use scarves are a versatile accessory! One of my favorite French bloggers is Mai Tai who is the QUEEN of scarves!

I was scrolling Pinterest one day to find some new ways to wear the Hermes scarves that Faith left with me. I found one, after another, and other ways that I wanted to try wearing the scarves! And here we are! I love Hermes scarves (see these past posts) and have been a fan of the beautiful prints for years. Most of Hermes scarves as matronly, but I think of them as works of art! Here are some fabulous ways that I found on Pinterest plus some ways I’ve worn it previously!

SUSTAINABLE STYLE: You don’t have to own an Hermes scarf to try these styles. I have many scarves from my MIL’s mother, vintage ones from resale shops, and even CABI scarves. Find prints/colors that you love and work with those!

Here are few scarf tying resources that I find amazing!

BELTED WITH A BLAZER

For this one, I wore a cami under the blazer and tucked one corner of the scarf under the strap (and bra strap) and let the scarf hang down. I belted it and adjusted the scarf so that it fanned out!

HALTER TOP

I saw this style on a mannequin in the Hermes boutique and loved the way it looked for Summer! The SA couldn’t tell me exactly how it was done without taking down the display. Luckily, I discovered this style on the Hermes Silk Knots app! I’ll try to explain it simply:

ONE SHOULDER TOP

This Pinterest pin has a great infographic on how to try this. Here the quick version of how I tied the top:

OFF THE SHOULDER SQUARE TOP

This style was also found on the Hermes app, but it’s relatively simple.

KIMONO TOP

Oh boy! This one does not work as well as it looks! LOL! I was inspired by a Free People catalog cover but this look needs to be worked on some more and would definitely need a tube top under modesty.

ON YOUR HANDBAG

This is an easy way to add some color to your bag! Do the bias fold and then tie on the handle!

HEADSCARF

// original post here //

I love the way this looks on others, but I am always “iffy” when I see it on myself! LOL! This is also relatively easy. Fold the scarf diagonally so it forms a triangle. Place the widest part of the triangle on your forehead, and tie the two ends together either in back or the side!

TUNIC TOP

This is a style that I have in my knotting cards that came with the scarf. I searched the web and found the infographic here!

AS A CROP TOP

// original post here //

Wearing a scarf as a crop top is so perfect for the Summer! It’s a basic bias fold (made wider) and you can tie the knot in front (for a bikini look) or in back (for a bandeau look). Since I’m more “mature”, I opted to wear this style under overalls for more modesty!

AROUND YOUR NECK

This is pretty self explanatory, but you can wear a scarf any which way around your neck and it always looks beautiful.

HEADBAND

In the first picture, it’s an oblong CABI scarf. You can style it by tying it around your hair unevenly so one of the tails hangs down in your hair. In the second picture with the maxi twilly, I used it as a true headband to keep all of my hair off of my face. The long scarf makes for a fun and dramatic look.

BONUS IDEAS // I’ve also tied it around my handbag handle HERE and as a travel shawl HERE!

I wanted to add a photo of my beautiful friend Faith whom this blog post is written in memory of. She is at her niece’s wedding wearing a fun floral headdress. I loved her zest for life and miss her sparkly spirit.
