It’s that time again… CHIC AT EVERY AGE. This week, we’re sharing how to style this fun black halter neck side-slit jumpsuit! Read on to see why I love it.
For those of you that have just tuned in, this fab collab is exactly how it sounds… a chic chick in her 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s shows you how to style a piece in their own way. I’m working with some of my FAVORITE gals in Dallas!!

Hey Friends! Sorry about crickets over here. I’m still playing catch up after returning from Washington DC. At least, I’m back today with a fun Chic at Every Age!
HOW TO STYLE THE JUMPSUIT
Cathy and Heather found these cute black halter jumpsuits on a shopping excursion to Nordstrom. I say excursion because those two definitely know how to shop and get me into trouble when I with them! Anyhow, this jumpsuit is a fun take on a basic black piece because of the embroidered trim, halter neckline, and side-slit pants. Since it’s rayon, it hangs nicely but is light enough for Summer here in hot Texas.
The pants open up when you walk giving you a little bit of style mystery! The halter neck is adjustable with a tie in the back. (I forgot to get a picture of it but you can see it on the website.) The front has a hidden snap so you can be scandalous with it UNDONE (as Natalie calls it!) or not! LOL! I’m wearing size SMALL for reference.
I threw this white Veronica Beard blazer over the jumpsuit for a dressy and more conservative look. Blazers are always my “easy solution” for any outfit that shows shoulders! In case you weren’t aware, I am OBSESSED with Veronica Beard (in general) and their blazers. See this post for what I mean. Random fact about this blazer… it went on sale and then quickly sold out and I was SO SAD that I missed it. So I stalked the internet and found it brand new on eBay for less than $200! #SCORE
My white/tortoise Lele Sadoughi statement earrings have finished an outfit so many times. (See here.) I gravitate towards lighter colored earrings so it stands out against my dark hair. I find the same to be true for my lighter haired friends – that darker earrings work well for them.
WHAT THE CHIC AT EVERY AGE GALS WORE
Don’t the gals look fabulous? It was hilarious that day because Becca said we looked like “Beachy Bridesmaids” and I heard “Bitchin’ Bridesmaids”! LOL! And I was like, “Yeah, we’re totally cool and bitchin”! Anyhow, the first comment was more on the mark because the jumpsuits are so flowy and boho!
Leave it up to Natalie to own that look with her hat and straw bag! Love it! I went for wedding guest look with a white blazer and statement earrings. Heather channeled her inner siren with a choker, leaving the front snap undone, and clear heels. Cathy went for a casual look with flat sandals and a cute animal print clutch.
So how do you wear a jumpsuit??! Share your secrets!
Happy Friday Friends! We are going to move the kids upstairs this weekend so I’m getting stuff rearranged and sorted in the house. Plus, we have an adoption meeting tomorrow about how to handle the transition during school. I’m so thankful that Hope Cottage provides these kinds of educational sessions for us and the opportunity to discuss with other adoptive families. What are you up to this weekend?
