For those of you that just tuned in, From Grandma with Love is a monthly series that is one of my faves! (It used to be weekly, but I’m still trying to get back into the swing of things.) I’m lucky to be the recipient of my Grandmother-in-law’s beautiful wardrobe. She owned so many unique pieces, and I’ve had the MOST FABULOUS time styling it on the blog. It’s a win-win for me because I ADORE vintage and a fun excuse to wear it!
When my MIL showed me this vintage gold Asian Robe, I was beyond the moon! IT’S SO GORGEOUS!! I’ve seen street style darlings wearing robes over jeans and a tee, so that’s exactly what I did with “mom jeans”. It needs to be repaired, but I literally couldn’t wait to wear it. You’ll notice that some of the frog clasps are missing. This is what I wore to the rewardSTYLE masterclass last month.
THE STYLE Rx: Have some fun with a vintage or new robe and wear it over skinny jeans for a fun and chic casual look. Use the robe as a topper for an evening/holiday dress and be prepared to turn heads (in a good way)!
You can go for a more casual look with a simple robe or a dressier look with an embellished robe. Either way, it’s a fun way to wear a new piece that may have been sitting in your closet.
